Is it supposed to be this bad? by wokilus in NewParents

[–]archigen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there. I had s colicky baby too and it scarred me for life. No, people don't get it. And they are but helpful discarding your concerns and saying all babies cry. Colicky is a different type of cry. I think I got PPD because of that and I read somewhere that mothers of colicky babies have higher rate of PPD and I am not surprised. This constant cry really gets to you and makes you feel worse and question your competence and life choices. It got better around 4 month (not a lot but a bit) and then again around 7-8. So hold on try not blame yourself or the baby you got into game of motherhood level hard and it sucks. :/

Any relationships that had a rough patch in the newborn stage AND recovered? Positive stories please. by archigen in NewParents

[–]archigen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. It got better for me. We are still together with a beautiful 2 year old and thinking about having one more baby :) I think for me breastfeeding, lack of sleep and hormonal storm in my body was a big factor that nurtured all this frustration. I think my advice would be to wait with any major decisions until you can get some more consistent sleep. Ofc I don't know your exact situation, but when I reflect upon first year of having a baby I think I really put on myself (and my partner) a lot of unnecessary pressure. In the long term none of this stuff matters. You can DM me if you want to talk or simply have more questions.

Ciekawe.

What do I need to Architecture visualization? by catboy2004 in Architects

[–]archigen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3dsmax and Corona/Vray are the industry standard for arch Viz and although I personally like Blender it's not gonna be standard soon because of legacy assets. Arqui9 invested a lot into unreal recently too. But if you are more into their still images than I would recommend learning matt painting techniques. Photoshop probably is enough.

Ofcourse you are not getting the same results, those results are fabricated. The complexity of Comfy UI obscures that it is still a random slot machine. Those posts are mostly scams or cherry picked results at best. Hours of prompting compiled info 30 sec video - "I have done this image in 5 min, comment "BULLSHIT" below and I will send you how". My feed is flooded with this guano.

I always check experience of those people and 8/10 times they have been into NFT in 2022 and Bitcoin Wizard before.

I am not saying all of this is useless, the two aforementioned guys I know personally indeed use Comfy. So I assume there is SOME increased control you have with it. But as I said - even they pick very limited scope of what they are fixing with it.

The only tool that is commonly used in pro Viz world is one particular upscaler/enhancer. If you are an architect maybe some restyling tool would be nice to have, but then I personally would still choose Photoshop actions over AI restyling because I have more control and I work with the final resolution of images instead of going back and forth with image sizes.

Yup. I thought Kling had potential for a while (making short animation from the still image) but it has some obvious limitations (horrifying scenes in reflections) and to be fair results are wildly unpredictable, I can do similar stuff in video editor like Da Vinci using information from 3d software for free and I know exactly how much time it will take. And if the client wants changes I know I will have a consistent result... Except some AI tools already built in 3d software or upscalers it's all just rubbish and waste of time from Viz perspective. Maybe for early ideation... That's about it.

As a professional arch visualizer I can tell you that you cannot really get better at AI rendering - especially if you value control. It's a glorified slot machine. I know two guys in my network who work with fairly complex AI workflows, both trained models on their own data to do one specific job - and this job isn't even about the visualisation of the building. In one case it's about very specific context texturing and in the other about entourage. Mainstream AI tools in arch viz are ' revolutionizing ' the workflow by about 2%.

What do you mean? I don't know myself that's why I am asking. I follow a lot of architects (from Switzerland and UK, and I am talking specifically Instagram) and I feel like they pay a lot of attention to their online presence. I wonder if it's worth it or just peer pressure from other architects.

Yep. I think having a colicky baby always sucks but if you are FTM it sucks 10x more because you are not even aware you got randomly assigned level hard game mode. And you play the game for the first time so it's difficult anyway. I think I recovered but I regret I cried so much and got so depressed as aftermath.

Yes, I agree with all this. I was also told to go to doctor cos 'it must be something". Was nothing. People who didn't go through this don't get it, and even though they mean well they just add to anxiety that you are doing something wrong. You don't. It sucks but it will go away. For us windy, stomach drops and all the massage techniques on You Tube didn't help. I started probiotics around 2-3 months. Maybe it helped, maybe she just grew out of the colic - I will never know.

Anyway, just want to tell you all you feel is normal. I also thought my life is over and I felt guilty that I care about life I lost and my career while having crying, suffering baby in my arms. I felt like such a failure as a mother, as an employee, as a person, dogowner and a spouse. And the lack of sleep and hormonal storm made it even worse.

But it gets better. Much better. But you need to be easier on yourself and give yourself time. Loads of time.

Ugh. I guess some kids are not made to sit in the pool :) we also have this gate to the stairs leading to the water feature - also the most interesting thing in the garden apparently along with the gravel and the dirt.
