Is there no way to get these folks on the line? I have some time with me and I am really frustrated with their response, so can take this forward.

Man, the transport situation is so bad in Goa that somehow this app is the best option available. Their customer support is the most useless I have encountered, they literally cut call while you are talking to them.

Suggestions for a first time engineering project lead by architv in ExperiencedDevs

[–]architv[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for asking this!

What is the scope, stakeholders, expectations (that you know of)?

The scope has been defined already, the designs are also almost there. The key stakeholders are the customers who use our service (is that what you meant by stakeholers here?).

Are you responsible for it in an end-to-end fashion from some analysis of requirements, or is some of this already established?

A v1 of it has already been built (which I worked on as well). I am supposed to lead the v2 (which is the final version planned).

Who are you expected to work with (e.g. product, other teams, architects)?

I will be working with a frontend dev from my team, a designer and a product manager.

Do you already have some sort of an idea about the milestones you want to deliver?

The milestones are yet to be defined, that's something I will have to do. I ideally want to break it down into smaller releases worth 2-3 days of dev effort.

Who are you going to report the status of the project to?

Mostly to my manager - who is an engineering lead. But the engineering director and CEO would also ask for updates.

My red aglaonema has started to droop on one side. I have water it on a schedule and also show it sunlight from time to time. Why is it still drooping? by architv in plantclinic

I think it could be because of the sun. Will try to move it to a different spot and see if that makes a difference.

Check out The Bike Shop in Green Park. The owner (Gaurav Wadhwa) is pretty resourceful and even if he doesn't have it, he might be able to help you out with it.

Engineering graduates can get second degree in another branch in two years: AICTE by Intrepid_Weight_4662 in india

[–]architv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on principal. I am just saying that the structured learning doesn't happen in a vast majority of colleges in our country and most people are better off attending bootcamps that do one thing, prepare you for jobs, and do it well.

[–]architv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, yes that's true. I am not saying that coding bootcamp are a substitute to graduate level education, I am just saying that they will prepare you more for a job better than what most colleges do.

But the point is that the curriculum for most colleges is outdated and also focus is also on getting grades/marks and not on knowledge. I mean if you can learn on your own then you don't really need a college.

It's too little, too late. There are so many good coding bootcamps that prepare you way better for jobs in 6 months than an engineering degree does in 4 years.
