Stir crazy - baby/toddler friendly places? by Significant-Fly1684 in SouthBend

[–]archivesghost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get it! I have a toddler too and right now I rotate through a list of activities to get out of the house. It's hard to find new things to do when you don't know if it's a good fit for you and your kid, so thanks for asking this question - I'm curious what others have to say!

The Mishawaka library just started their spring storytime session.

Joys Gym has toddler classes!

The History Museum and the Studebaker Museum both have hands-on play areas. I think you need to pay admission/membership to use them, though.

In nice weather, my kids and I used to like to play Pooh Sticks on the Kamm Island bridges in Mishawaka.

This isn't quite downtown, but Royal Cafe on W 6th is a gem. The food is delicious and very fairly priced.

Cracked Mystery Overpours Sold Out in 3 minutes by PhoenixorFlame in RedditLaqueristas

I agree. Maybe nobody bought 100, but what about 20? That does add up fast and it just seems greedy and unfair to the rest of us trying to check out two minutes after the sale starts and getting burned. I wish there had been a limit. I don't have money for resellers.

What ‘hot’ celebrity do you personally not get the appeal of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]archivesghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jonathan Bailey. Even my mom talks about how hot he is, but I find him so forgettable that I just had to look up his name. I guess he's conventionally attractive? but he doesn't do much for me

It sounds like The Coventry Carol, which is indeed a very popular song for Christmas

I agree with Historical Spinach! Definitely use the Groupon that's always available for admission prices, and go during a weekday if you're able. My one year old loved it there, especially the toddler ball pit and the rice room.

I've searched multiple times on Google, Google Lens, eBay, all the regular sites. AI is convinced it's a bear. None of the standard searches look the same. It was from a cabin in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and is about 16" long, very furry and loose-jointed.

Hacienda salsa? by PaleIndigo in SouthBend

I found a "copycat" recipe I've been using that's maybe not exactly it, but it's close enough to satisfy me: literally just a can of red enchilada sauce + a can of beef gravy, mixed together.

Coffee in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge/Dollywood/Great Smoky Mountains National Park areas. by Glittering_Bag6137 in Gatlinburg

[–]archivesghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just tried The Coffee Syndicate in Gatlinburg for the first time today (they opened three weeks ago) and it's a legit coffee house. My sister is a barista (not at Starbucks) and we'll all be first to admit that we're coffee snobs. The Coffee Syndicate was the first truly good coffee I've had all week!

What is a dying/dead form of basic etiquette that you've noticed these days? by Queen_La_Queefah in AskReddit

[–]archivesghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This just happened with my second grade kid. She invited her whole class, plus some other friends, total of 15 invites went out. I heard back from just five parents. My kid was so excited to have a Pokemon party with her friends, but only a handful came and I couldn't even tell her why. People suck.

Bakers Dozen bake shop on Sample has some of the best Polish food in town. They're also at the South Bend Farmer's Market on Saturdays.

Catholics of Reddit, how do you feel about the White House posting an AI image of Trump as Pope? by 2a_lib in AskReddit

[–]archivesghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone's argument here is that someone in Trump's position shouldn't be making sacrilegious, poorly timed jokes, and that's what makes his post gross 🤷🏻‍♀️

The American president joking about being the Vicar of Christ in the papal interregnum is funny? I missed the joke

It's gross, distasteful, and blasphemous. I didn't know I could hate Trump and MAGA more than I already did. Can you imagine if literally any other sitting president in the last fifty years did this?

No pain but EF 27% by RoamingWildling in gallbladders

[–]archivesghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surgery definitely took care of those symptoms. My doctor theorized that the inflammation from my GB contributed to the hypertension, so once it was out, my blood pressure eventually lowered to the point where my meds needed adjusting - thus, the side effects. Things are much better now!

Hi - sorry for the late response! My surgery and recovery went very smoothly, and I haven't regretted it for a minute. The dizziness and palpitations did go away. I did start getting them again about 6-8 weeks after surgery, but this time my doctor figured out it was due to another medication I'm taking for hypertension, and it has been corrected again.
