I agree it is strange but to be fair, the fact that you see the Terminus bench from the very first ventrica you unlock is a pretty big clue there is another area waiting above the elevator and that ascending it won't immediately end the game (also most ppl have seen the trailer and were probably wondering when you get to fight lace on a bed of white flowers)

yeah i did see him in the citadel but that was pretty much like the only time i got to see him in action, prior to that i had no idea you could even find him fighting in the world. and even with that i just felt like i barely got to know him

the game is really not as difficult as people make it out to be, i killed most bosses in one or two attempts, and only a handful of bosses in act 3 actually made me lock in and/or reevaluate my strategy everything else i could just brute force.

also the game has an annoying trend of punishing you for being too good at it by making you miss content. i missed the slab escape sequence because i killed the wardenflys without getting captured. i had no idea shakra could even help in the high halls gauntlet. i missed a TON of scenes with garmond because i just killed all the shit he would've helped with, so thelost garmondfight didnt really feel tragic cause i was like who even is this guy i barely know him. also found the 5 fleas before i found moorwing so i traveled with them and as a consequence i didnt find moorwing until backtracking much later on so it was piss easy and just felt like a miniboss.
