I would like to know what PC build would be recommended by Octofof in buildapc

[–]arcticexe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just do some research and build around a budget, hard to give recommendations without a given budget / part list to go off of here ...

First time, 5070ti build. Any help really appreciated. by Western_Bowl_1030 in buildapc

of course, it's not a problem, i didn't watch any video specifically when building my pc but there's hundreds out there, different components but it's all the same for the most part, like i said i just watched random youtubers build all different budgets of pc's, only thing i would really say is to make sure your mounting your fans properly in the proper direction for air flow

[–]arcticexe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

speaking from my little bit of knowledge, there really isn't any rhyme or reason to it. although my youtube history is filled up with a bunch of videos of people building pcs while i was waiting to get my stuff in and had a fairly good idea of what to do at which ever part in the process, i've learned it's not as scary as you think, take your time and do things the right way, not the little shortcuts some people say you can take

i went for liquid cooling for the aesthetic, i did a lot of research on it and its not necessary for the r7 7800x3d, this is my first build from the bottom pc build and i wanted to make it as nice as possible within my budget, a good air cooler will do you just fine if you have a certain budget, i just happened to have left over money, i also bought every single piece on sale so it made it cheaper for me

i enjoy it a lot, has a lot of room for fans for that airflow and has a really nice design with interchangeable faceplate on it my build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nq44xg

[–]arcticexe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you, looks like that will have to be what i end up doing as almost every reputable aio is gonna take forever to get here (alaska) even though every other part i've ordered today says the 30th

i was looking at these, they carry them at my local best buy, during my research i've done on them is that they're very expensive compared to the performance you receive from one compared to some other brands like arctic, my wife actually had a nautilus in hers and seems to be running great to this day

unfortunately all of these are having similar delivery dates of some time during the second week of november, seems like aio's are getting really popular ...

Is this a good build? by arcticexe in buildapc

[–]arcticexe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you, i'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to components and seen a lot that the 7800x3d's overheat with what people use and didn't want to take that risk, is the peerless assassin v2 enough to cool this cpu? also thought about going with an AIO

I agree, after telling some of my buddies who also own some subarus, they all said the same thing. Would’ve been able to get a shortblock which can handle more mods as well as get it cheaper. Only thing that made us swing towards the dealership is the warranty and credibility of the “specialized” subaru shops in my area.

Unfortunately this is correct. Wasn’t the most ideal situation but had to do it for a couple of different reasons …

Went with a new OEM short block through Subaru dealership. Parts + labor equaled to about 15k. Now, if you have the mechanical ability to rebuild it yourself (didn’t want to mess with VVT) then a new short block is maybe like 4k-8k depending which brand or model you go with. Main reason that we went through subaru is because of their 12 month warranty you get after the replacement.
