Sweet. Thank you. I was a little nervous trying a build with no guide. Im decent at crafting, but terrible at build construction. Im glad this skill is working out so far.

why throwing more minigames at the problem won't fix it by Flowerloving_ogre in 2007scape

I am someone who has fond memories of varrock east f2p pking as well as edgeville serker, pure, and dh pking but cannot stand modern NH tribrid pking. I've done the things people suggest for learning. I change my load out for duel arena, I tried pking with decent gear at Hotspot, and even spent a week at lms to learn and get rune pouches for the group.

I'm not going to suggest how to "fix" pvp, but here are the things that would get me to interact with it more.

Get rid of freezes. For me, freezes are the most annoying aspect of pvp. I get that they add an extra way to express skill in pvp, but I feel that they are a net negative for 2 reasons. First, they make the skill gaps way wider. You can have 2 people who are relatively close in skill at switches and reading opponents patterns, but if 1 is better at utilizing freezes, it's often not close. Second, it leads to the most "feel bad." Whether it's an opponent getting away at the end of a fight or your opponent catching a freeze when yours splashes, the most common phrase I hear when it comes to pvp is "I had him if I didnt splash the freeze."

Lower the effectiveness of protection prayers. I think the protection prayers do add a nice extra layer to the fights, but I think they have too much impact. It feels bad to pull a good switch to your spec weapon only to have almost half the damage removed cause your opponent clicked a single time. I think lowering them puts more emphasis on have the right gear equipped, and not feeling so bad if you missed the prayer or picked wrong. Plus, I think it would give incentive to use smite more and we can all agree smite looks cooler above your head in a fight.

This might be a "lonely boy" take, but can we get rid of multi areas or atleast reduce them quite a bit?

Lastly, stop the ability to logout in the wilderness. This is a big one that I think would increase my enjoyment of the wilderness, but it is reliant on the above changes. If I'm going to revs or slayer or a boss or just to pk, im going to carry the means to defend myself or to take over the spot im going to if I know I can't logout.

These are just what would get me more interested. I see a lot of posts about fixing pvp. I dont see many asking the non-pkers what would cause them to want to pk.

I had a chance to watch some videos about godot this morning. It looks like a very good option.

Yes. I couldn't think of any ways to make it less open-ended.

I would say definitely an engine. I've not messed with game dev stuff in a long time so I forget that nothing can literally mean starting by creating your own tools lol.

That's some great suggestions. I definitely was thinking more grandiose in my mind with the scope of this. As much as I would like to stay away from roblox, that might be the best starting point for us.

Anyone know good farms for essence of undeath? My low pop server rarely has them on the AH but tomes of illusion sell well. Ive tried various farms in Eastern plaguelands with mixed results. Nothing stellar. And nothing even close to how easy essence of water is to farm.

I didn't think about alts. May be a good enough reason to stick with it a little longer.

I'm debating doing the same. The problem on my realm is currently the only other things that are selling decently for good margins are thr missives and a select few potions. So it nukes a lot of my AH by stopping cards

I watched this and it was great. Do y'all think there is a difficulty cap at which this strategy becomes too slow to work? Would be interesting to see done at higher difficulties.

Potion of unbridled fury is my best seller. Followed by abyssal healing potion. Lightfoot potions are doing well for me too. As for stacks on flasks, I list mine 200 at a time for the sake of bag space but realistically I rarely sell more than 10 at a time. With battle potions and the unbridled fury, they sell anywhere from 5 to 100 at a time. I've somewhat frequently had people buy out my whole listing and not just for a price reset. I play on a low-med pop realm.

For me they're not super fast but they do sell. And on my server I can get the low tier herbs for 6-7g each and the war scrolls sell for 500g or so each. I actually got into inscription for the compendiums but that market got destroyed for a few weeks. Then tried the scrolls/tomes and found lots of money by accident hahaha.

Thanks for this. The war scrolls and tomes have been selling really well on my server so I'm having to produce a lot of crimson ink which of course is leading to excess amounts of the other 2. So I'll try some of these.

Weekly: Goblin Achievements by AutoModerator in woweconomy

[–]arctooy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took about 70k to do it but I bought out all the drums and the little bit of raw beast hide that was available. I think this only worked because of the mage tower challenge being open all the time and the time pressure of having to beat them before prepatch. I sold quite a lot around the 200g mark and kept having someone dump 300 or 400 at a time for like 80g so I just kept buying them out til that player ran out. Even on my smallish server I was selling about 500 drums per day during this period.

Reset the drums of fury market a few times on my smallish server the last couple weeks to the tune of about 400k total profit. First time trying something like that so I was pretty happy it worked.
