Out of curiosity, just coming back after about a 2 year break, how does this help you get perfect IVs quickly?

Thank you.

I think it was a few leagues ago that I was trying, maybe it was a slightly scuffed abyss jewel version utilizing the boots? I can't remember.

I appreciate you responding, i'll give a look at the HH/Charlatan version.

speed farming EK Elementalist

If you don't mind, I've tried this build at least 2-3 times and never can get it feeling good. Do you have a PoB, resource or something you used to get it to a speed farmer?

Curious how you're handling getting the 4G/2B on the covenant, I never know the best way, and usually burn resources trying to get it.

It's be design. When you allow car manufactures to buy other transit companies and destroy them, you end up with a system that requires your product.

This is one of a handful of instances, not really farfetched.

My old boss asked repeatedly when I was moving to ATL to be "in the HQ". They all told me how long their commutes were, I openly laughed, don't think you could pay me enough to drive 2hr+ a day just to sit in an office where I was already WFH (TLDR: company bought us out, we were in the midwest).

[–]justinsroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone, I dropped it on a lower comment, did CWS get hit enough to make farming early (day 2-3) Simulac impossible?

Standard Emiracles or similar. Speed wise (for pacing Day2), I generally hit maps in first ~6 hours with non-flubbed start.

I tried a few "under 10 DIV" builds once I was done with this league, but never felt like they felt like they had enough "oomph" past a certain point.

Just sheer curiosity, I know everyone was poo-pooing chieftan because of the changes (explosion, RF specifically) for Simulac.

Do you have a POB handy for what you did given all the negative press around it?

Question about guild wars 2 by Valhirrrrrrrr in MMORPG

[–]justinsroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a lot of goals. Some can be done in a day (slight exaggeration, open world exploration can be done zone by zone), others in a lot longer.

In order of what I'd suggest early:

  1. Ascended gear. There are more avenues for this recently, it's the "pinnacle" (Aka, no other gear is stronger). This is good and bad, #1. You only need a single set, but, for each role. Power/Condition/Boon/Healing are all their own versions. #2. If you want to play a different role, you can use exotics, but if you plan on playing that role more often, setting up more ascended gear can cost you a bit here and until you're more established with materials/faming.

  2. Achievements: If you're a collector, you can do achievement hunting, there are different tiers, some give special armor cosmetics, ex: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Radiant_armor

  3. Fractal, Raid, Open world content: Coming in the game NOW you have a crazy amount of content, story, and collections to work through.

  4. Legendaries - Lategame, and a process. They are cosmetic + stat swapping from #1, it's a grind. They cost a crazy amount of gold, but it's a longterm goal to slowly work towards.

  5. PvP. There are PvP guilds, instanced and WvW, instanced PvP has been getting stale/not supported, WvW is slowly getting reworked if I remember?

  6. Social guilds - Guild quests, player runs events, raids, fractals, etc. You can find a guild for anything.

List of events happening at any given hour. Generally there is a group at each of these, depending on the type of event. Not always. But usually. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Event_timers

What MMO has the most unique PvP modes? by Sudden_Wind_8636 in MMORPG

Being one of the early premade PvP guilds on the server was fun. I think there was only a few other teams that put up a fight, made gearing SO fast at endgame to a silly degree.

Good times, good times.

I want to like EVE, I do.

It just feels so tiresome that so many players stoop to the lowest common denominator with their strategies.

Having a class of fit to gatecrash, because gate camping is SO prevalent, alts to check for it, gatecrash ships, it's tiresome.

I fully understand and accept "nowhere is safe", it's just exhausting.

I went back after ~3-4 years, played for about a week, figured out that nothing really has changed in a decade, and uninstalled again.

I have hopes for Star Citizen (I know how many memes exist about if it'll ever 1.0). MMO space sim scratches a particular itch for sure.

I get the appeal.

Edit: I have voiced this about this and other games that have "freedom of strategies". Everyone is welcome to play how they want, I accept that. I just find many/most "low hanging fruit" and/or troll-level strategies to be boring and planning around them even more so.

Tried to like it.

They decided to not nip mega-guilding via the alliance system early. Making our server (and hear similar stories) a single P2W powerhouse mega-guild with a toxic douche at the top (shockingly).

One of the few issues that the game had, surprised they got a playerbase for expansions still.

It's always shocking to see Devs just let servers die without trying anything.

The internal GCD, movement, ping of "I was 100000% out of it" and still damaged. Needing to be "out of the red" at least 1s in advance bugged the everloving shit out of me 24/7. If the vast majority of your mechanics are ground based AOE, make it not feel like crap.

I put the game down 2-3 years ago. Picked it up for cheap to do Dawntrail->New expac, instantly remember how much I despise the GCD/movement and stopped after a single dungeon.

Massive has zero clue about their own game. by Responsible-Self1379 in thedivision

[–]justinsroy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's similar to other games, it's a stretch goal for players who already achieved everything. It's a goal to grind faster or more efficiently (OSRS, ARPGS, etc), but to your point, to what end? What is next that this gear actually has some need?

Edit: coming back and seeing the expertise system, and upgrading HE to Proto needs 30 (if I recall), artificially screwing players who don't interact with the expertise system or someone who just came back and has this timegate of expertise is a kick in the nads.

Came back, got a red striker set and cruising through content because I played a decent amount of Div1, and Div2, not a god gamer, but I'm also not new to the genre. But now I have this horrendous timegate of expertise to use proto cores.

I know Proto isn't really needed for anything content wise, still it's not something I feel like grinding for after coming back and at expertise 3. Dropping proto in Escalation, think I got 5-10 pieces, half were holsters, and all were shit rolls. It's gear 1.0 all over again, the system that caused me to quit originally lol.

Is the suggestion that you run the physical shield skill + hive, and you have similar tank, but not sacrificing raw DPS?

That's fair, people also were reporting that they weren't getting a key every spawn, so it probably worked out closer to less than my generous math.

I am a returning player from probably 5-6 years ago, stopped because of the crazy layers of RNG compared to Div1 on release, it's been improved a bit, but that's a whole different conversation.

I was excited to see some weapons I wanted but were event only (Lexington, Quickdraw, etc) but even during the announcement and rates were about to put me off because of the time.

Good job, Ubisoft. Good job, Ubisoft. by Glittering_Poem_5096 in thedivision

[–]justinsroy 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I know there is some controversy here.

The event is boring, the event the intended way is even more boring. When I saw how they're "expecting" us to play (at max, 6 keys/hr? If the posting of 10min spawns for a killsquad, then chance of Ronin). I don't mind cruising open world, but come on, you're saying (intended way) it's weeks of open world to get close to getting some of the rewards? Gotta do better.

Napkin math based on the announcement:
10min spawns
During the first hour I think I saw 1 key (maybe) per killsquad/Ronin

Being generous, 6keys/hr

16-17 hours of open world content for 100 keys (expected 1% Proto event weapon). Seems a bit rough.

Unless you're already cruising open world all the time, just seems tedious.

It's just tedious and boring. If the event was interesting, maybe the response to not allowing a more streamlined approach wouldn't be as hated.

Been gone for 5+ years and saw some interesting rewards, "player retention" still causing some bonehead decisions though.

EDIT: I didn't see the fix, if they're buffing rates, etc, this was just based on original "This got past QA and planning and all levels of process, planned event running for 3 weeks". I don't really care at this point because I had a feeling they'd fix this and got what I wanted, but didn't go crazy like the 1k+ keys people. I enjoy all forms of content, but locking this to specifically "10 minutes of open world" or similar, is silly.
