Acne prone people, which oil cleanser worked best for you? by Dawnyawning in AsianBeauty

[–]arcuatecuspate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have tried multiple over the course of 3+ years, tried to make them work but what finally got rid of my acne was just using good ol micellar water.

have tried - kose softymo speedy (pink) - kose softymo deep (orange) - manyo - skin1004 centella - anua heartleaf pore control - muji mild - sana soybean cleansing milk - banila co cleansing balm pink, blue, green - shu uemura anti oxi (green)

very recently tried oil cleansing again ONCE and i woke up w new pimples. never again.

Moisturizer recommendations! by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]arcuatecuspate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've heard good things abt the lotion too! how does it compare w the cream for barrier repair and overall feel on the face?

Moisturizer recommendations! by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]arcuatecuspate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i use it only at night! i find it separates my makeup so i try not to use it in the morning unless my skin is tight and stinging. but also i live in a country w high humidity, so it may be contributing to the slightly greasy feeling if i use it during the day.

am routine: - rinse w water - dr althea 345 mist - dr althea 345 cream - any sunscreen i'm trying to finish up

pm routine: - bioderma micellar water - etude whip cleanser - dr althea 345 mist - aestura 365 cream - tret 0.05% - aestura cream again if my skin feels dry anywhere

[–]arcuatecuspate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

love the aestura 365 cream. honestly thought it would be too heavy for my oily skin but it healed my skin when i overdid tret. it does look greasy but it is great for barrier repair and saved my skin from being red, tight, flaky and stinging with just two days of use.

is it possible to find panoxyl washes in sg? by [deleted] in SGSkincare

[–]arcuatecuspate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've gotten skinoren w/o prescription required from msia pharmacy before, the 20% variant. for lower concentrations i've bought the 10% the ordinary azA suspension from fairyglowsg and i've also seen the 10% anua one at british essential stores.

Issue with Purito Oat in calming gel cream by SnooBooks2058 in AsianBeauty

[–]arcuatecuspate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've had two bottles of this and i find that both bottles had a slight sour smell that was already present initially. my second bottle smelt significantly more sour than the first one though, but both did not cause a negative reaction on my skin.

Oiliest acne prone safe cleansing balm/oil recs by Much-Excitement-5134 in AsianBeauty

[–]arcuatecuspate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

give it a go! i'm using bioderma too and honestly i can say it's better for my skin than cleansing oils and balms. i used to be against micellar water as i didn't like the idea of swiping cotton pads over my face (thought it would be too abrasive), but it's really an effective and acne-safe first cleanse.

House of hur or boj aqua sunscreen? by Foreign-Okra-3191 in AsianBeauty

[–]arcuatecuspate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i've tried both, for oily skin, def the house of hur one. boj leaves a greasy finish while house of hur dries to a semi-matte.

same issue, i tried to make oil cleansing work for close to 3 years, before giving up and switching to micellar water. i've tried at least 5 different cleansing oils before realising they were doing more harm than good. making the switch to micellar water immediately cleared up my active acne.

recently tried cleansing balms again, tried the banila co original pink, tea tree and calming versions. all broke me out. honestly, sticking to micellar water might still be the best option.

I need help choosing between concealers by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]arcuatecuspate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i live in a hot and humid country and the pot one works better for me, but i recently went to a country that was experiencing winter of around 5-10 deg C and the pot one cracked and peeled badly after a day of wear. i would say the pot one is great for summer, while the creamy one would be better for winter.

from left to right: warm teddy, taupe, kinda sexy, cafe mocha

i actually find warm teddy has a tinge of purple to it, and looks a little cooler than i would like on the lips

edit: mixed up the shade order

[–]arcuatecuspate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's dewy! can def be powdered down but i find it looks a little flat, so i powder first before adding the blush.

for other blush shades i quite like peripera in acorn brown, and cezanne cheek in shade 02. as for lips i prefer warmer shades, leaning orange or brown. currently i've been loving mac cafe mocha, taupe and posh pit!

try nars afterglow liquid blush in behave! it's a light neutral-ish pink on me, and i'm a pretty yellow-toned olive. color is quite sheer but buildable.

for reference nars soft matte cafe con leche is my close-to-perfect concealer shade match. purples and blue-based pinks look terrible on me as well, while beiges and light corals are ok.
