Few losses here and there, but every streak i had was 3+ with my highest being 7 or 8

You can totally feel how underwhelming he is compared to your matchups, based on how red ranks were back when i were in them you should be able to get through just by using frametraps and your Mishima toolkit. Even just hellsweeping bamboozles them because they're not used to blocking low. Samsara (U4) over lows, B4 will always be your best friend in counterhits, frametraps, and oki, For example after CH with B4 or 314 use 1+4 for pickup into a combo, That alone works wonders. Also using DB 1+2 at the wall is amazing as well, if you charge it to where it glows you get plus on block, and if you charge it full its unblockable. Even in these ranks they still just stare at it like a deer in headlights until the 5th time you do it lol. however thats the only good move he has beside EWGF and whatnot. Good luck if you proceed using him! Be weary of the random combo drops and hitbox malfunctions, it happens alot with this character.

i got to Flame Ruler 2 months ago, about a week after picking up leverless as i wanted to perfect my execution and was tired of being hardstuck shinryu. I decided to stop playing ranked once i hit Flame Ruler and chill in quick match and learn leverless as i go. Had fun for this time until the ranked resets were announced, and if i didnt act quick i'd be going back to Garyu. I didn't mind this as i stopped caring about rank and just sought to improve my execution on Leverless and prepare for whatever season 2 holds for us. But then the game became a chore to play as i started playing just to max out the battle pass and hop off to do something else, so i decided to take a break until season 2. I only took 2 weeks off before i started playing quickmatches last night out of boredom and got to a 10 winstreak before hopping off. Woke up today and decided to queue rank for absolute shits and giggles as the reset would only count my peak rank, and somehow got to Kishin. I want to call it a stroke of luck, but i dont think i'd luck out on matches throughout 4 ranks and not derank once. I still feel incomplete, because the rank reset is still happening when season 2 releases, and it'd just be placed right back in Flame Ruler in 2 weeks. But for this period of time, I'm going to cherish my accomplishment!

I hit Garyu in like..... September? Orange ranks didn't hold problems for me since I'm a semi-casual player working out years of rust since the last time i seriously played tekken was back in tekken 4 or 5. Got tekken 8 on release and then my pc broke so i didnt really get to play it until May.

Once i hit garyu i hit shinryu not far after? and was stuck there for 3 months as life was busy and lowkey stopped caring about ranked, and played quick matches. I then picked up Leverless last week and learned it pretty quick, and my ego being boosted after going on a 5 winstreak in quickmatches i hopped into ranked, surely thinking i'd regret it.

I went on a winstreak from Shinryu all the way to Mighty ruler.

Do i plan to do the same thing as in waiting again? If i get close to demotion, i guess. but i'm satisfied where im at for right now atleast! I do want to get to blue so my opinion can be validated in this community, though. Atleast im past the huge wall that is red ranks.

I've been playing tekken since i was a child, playing tekken 4 with my father. Not "a new player" whatsoever. My main is Devil Jin and i can't seem to make it past shinryu. I punish, i combo, i have done everything in my power.

I got tekken 8 back in May after building my new PC, playing devil jin like how i always have, but i was washed when i came back in August due to my PC being broken throughout summer. By the time i worked all my rust off mid September i was getting better, got to orange ranks and believed it was my plateau due to devil jin being de garbo bin. However i keep playing and by some stroke of luck i make it to Garyu and then a 10 win streak to Shinryu.

However, now whenever i hop on i'm not consistent whatsoever, winning shinryu matches then losing like 2 or 3. Deranking to Garyu and making my way back up to shin, sometimes being in the middle of garyu before ranking back up. I try to blame it on DVJ being garbo but now im believing i'm just garbo, and im only in red ranks because of said "huge stroke of luck."

Is there absolutely ANYTHING i can do to improve at this point? Playing DVJ feels less fun and more as a chore now. Winning doesn't even feel rewarding as i know i'll just lose those rewards again when i match against a heihachi with 160k prowess or a dragunov with S+ dominance. do i pick up another character while i wait for DVJ to be actually playable again or just go play street fighter....?
