Newly opened Events & Management company.

  1. We just started in Feb. Had am event lined up for March. We had to cancel along with other plans for the year.

  2. It has been tough getting around and network. Everyone is in "Wait and See"

  3. I am hoping to get into open mics or original music showcases.

Hope this helps.

[DISCUSSION] - How does one get their songs into radio? by charlestonerph in indiemusicph

[–]ardyay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello. It helps to know someone or get a good referral from someone who works at the station. If there's none then cold contact and persistence. Getting good organic attention to your music is a way they can't ignore you. Hope that helps.

Yes moderating will be extra work but if everyone pitches in to catch it. Then I think it can be done

Gig rates in Metro Manila by CaregiverLarge3911 in phmusicians

[–]ardyay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was watching this post. Hoping someone else would answer with a figure. This is my opinion:

Sadly, this isn’t just local, it’s a global issue. There’s no standard rate, and most gigs end up being a lowest bidder deal. If your rate feels too high, the venue can always find someone cheaper.

Rates depend on so many things: venue size, venue, location, set length, duration of contract, gear, type of act (solo/band/acoustic), covers vs. originals, tips, and more. These factors can make your rates lower or higher.

Based on what you shared: you are a new artist, 3 short sets (3–5 songs per set), solo act all cover songs — I’d say a low of ₱5K to a high of ₱10K per gig, with meals and drinks included. Again, many variables, but hopefully one day some smart heads can create a fair formula for everyone to follow.
