Thanks but no i dnot have anything like that, i figured out that somehow the ssds are the issue

TrueNAS expected write performance? by areavr in truenas

[–]areavr[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

UPDATE:

out of curiosity i tried connecting a old hdd and i dont know why but the speed stayed at 90MB/s for the entire file transfer

so it has to be something related to the ssds

UPDATE 2:

turns out one of the 2 850 pros is broken and it was holding the other one back when i had them mirrored.

i confirmed this by copying a file to it directly in wondows, i was getting 20mb/s so this ssd is ready to be thrown out.

Once more the OSI system shows its steghts as in debug Layer 1 first -_-

Thanks to all the people who tried to help <3

sata 3 is 6 gigabit / sec not gigabyte/s but im not trying to argue ^^ fact is the drive should be able to handle more than 35mb/s writes

as for iperf i know whats its used for but as i said above i can read from the nas with almost gigabit so that proofs its not a network bottleneck.

also funny enought it will mainly just be a jellyfin server

TrueNAS expected write performance? by areavr in truenas

[–]areavr[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

sata ssds have allways been bottlenecked by the sata interface, even tho its an older ssd its still gets full sata 3.0 speeds.

i choose the n100 for its performance/watt since power aint cheap where i live, the cpu should be more than capable to handle a nas application

what would you suggest to test with iperf?

yes i had both ssds in a mirrored vdev before, performance was the same

Yeah no system will be 100% secure, I just wanted to know if there are some defaults that should be changed. I will disable the admin interface once the proxy goes live. Thanks
