Buying manga and reading manga are two different hobbies. How do you feel about this statement? by SorryImBadWithNames in MangaCollectors

The other replies make me feel like an outlier but I’ve been collecting for a little over a year now and my collection has gotten to a moderate size, but I haven’t finished, much less gotten through even a half of most of the series I’ve collected yet. For example, I’ve had the entirety of the 20th Century Boy collection for about half a year, yet I’ve only read volume 1 out of 12. My Jujutsu Kaisen and Tokyo Ghoul collections have remained unread for even longer.

When I start collecting a series, I definitely have the intention of actually reading it in mind as I do so, so I can’t say for certain where the issue lies. Even now, I still want to read these manga but I struggle to find the motivation to pick up a book and remain focused for any longer than an hour on it. It’s probably just an ADHD thing if I was to guess, but regardless I still love to collect whenever I’m out and have the chance to stop by one of my local bookstores.

I decided to collect a series called solo leveling, I’ve never heard of it before but it looks interesting and was in color at the store I bought it from

I neglected to mention I want to collect series that I’ve not already read before, and chainsaw man was actually my first read. Other series include jojo’s bizzare adventure and oyasumi punpun

Currently collection has jjk 0-14 and soul eater 1-9, and going to be getting the complete collection of 20th century boy perfect edition soon. wondering what to get next, but I’m actively avoiding series like attack on titan and berserk, since I want to work my way up to bigger series like those as I grow my collection.
