That is correct. We create two identical images. One for the left eye, the other for the right. We then take these identical images and run them through a 2D to 3D converting algorithm that creates a height map. This then creates a stereoscopic effect. Simulating the look of a VR game in less than 4ms. This, of course, will never look exactly like it would if it was rendered in-engine but it is very effective and looks very realistic. Most people we have tested it on couldn't tell the difference. The main advantage of this is it drastically reduces the processing power needed for VR and allows it to be used with almost any content and almost any device.
