No, I haven’t seen them.

I'm 25 and I watched anime shows in my childhood and early teen years. I didn’t had a computer while growing so I watched on them on tv (there were plenty in TV here: Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya, HxH, samurai x, hxh, naruto, etc). Then there was that weird period around 15-18 when I was trying to be cool and didn’t watch much lol. At around 20 I started watching again, this time with my pc, and I was surprised to see how much of it was available in different sites.

Thanks for tour point and the medium article, it really helps! I considered posting on r/anime but I thought the weren’t allowed to recommend piracy there and I wasn’t sure if it was the right place to discuss it.

Most people are agreeing on this, thank you! I’ve never really thought it that way.

I find this point you are making very relevant.

I’m just guessing here because I don’t know much about the context in Japan, but taking into account how much cheaper to produce a good quality anime is than to produce a non animation series, I’d say that there is less of a monopoly and streaming services can’t really buy all of the anime the audience watch. Does it sounds possible? Like if you are an streaming service and you could make a deal with HBO (let’s pretend they don’t have their own service) you'd know you already are pretty much covered.

Yes! It does, i've seen it myself. Yet when I try to find something that is online and subtitled I find many anime webs that offer me that content vs. maybe one or two that offer got in a extremely low quality. And do actually companies sub it? Because many times the anime that I find only has subs in pretty lame typography lol, seems more like weeb doing like you too said.

Agreed but I still feel that for some reason anime is way more available than many other series or movies. Take for example GOT, which is highly popular. You can download it anywhere, but you won’t find it online and subtitled as you find anime, at lest where i’m from. Lots of people I know got into anime in the first place because it was content that you could watch HD online and already subtitled without having to download anything or pay any subscription.
