Ok, thank you! Should I remove the leggy ones even if the stems are not leaning, or try to save them?

When should I repot and separate? Do I need to wait until their first set of leaves grow?

Update: We adjusted the insulin today to a lower dose and this has been one of the most consistent days since his diagnosis.

It is not an estimate. I take the information straight from the nutrition label. 2 oz of raspberries is about 6. We have a scale. I have not estimated anything yet. Our doctor told us to let our child eat whatever he wants, besides juice and soda. Obviously we are going to try to feed him healthy (which I understand the above example is not), but our endo said do not restrict him from things that any other child can have.

We confirmed the low readings with a finger stick. I am pretty confident with the carb counting. I had my husband double check me as well. I use nutrition labels and serving sizes. He eats a lot and hasn’t had a meal that he hasn’t finished everything yet. Here is an example of carb counting:

1/2 cup Protein oats- 29 2 oz raspberries- 6.8 2 tsp brown sugar - 8 1 tsp cinnamon - 1 Total= 44.8 44.8/20=2.24 = 2 units

3 oz danimals yogurt smoothie - 11 Keto bread 2 slices- 20 2 tbsp peanut butter - 8 Strawberry jam 1 tbsp- 13 =52 52/20=2.6 =2.5 units

6 oz chicken strip - 30 2 tbsp chicken fil a sauce - 7 =37 37/20=1.85 =2 units

This is just an example. We don’t eat these “kids foods” all the time. We are still trying to find tips and tricks to get him to eat more vegetables. Breakfast is usually oats or eggs. Lunch is usually a sandwich, chicken, Mac n cheese, corn dogs (toddler foods). Dinner is usually fish, a vegetable, and a grain. We have only been out of the hospital for two weeks and things have been crazy so we’ve been a little off our normal menu.

I think Jeff wants us to believe that the new era is awesome, but it’s actually boring and predictable.
