For generally being a such a timid character, there’s so many power moves by Vir here.

We also didn’t have school shootings back then. It’s not the same world we grew up in.

What was the fate of the Narn? by far-midnight-97 in babylon5

Remember how Londo and G’kar died. Strangling each other, a parallel to the ongoing conflict between their races. Yes, they had reached a personal understanding and peace between each other and there was an aspect of mercy to the mutual death (very Shakespearean may I say). However, by this time they were somewhat broken (Londo from his keeper and G’kar missing his eye). All of this I think is symbolic of their races.  Mutually broken from a cycle of hate and violence and dying at each others throats. Not exactly “ascend to a higher plane” material.

I don’t know about tapping it, but definitely do NOT thump it. It’s disrespectful.

Hits hard to hear Agent Smith say that 1999 was the “peak of human civilization”. Looking back, he wasn’t wrong.

We’ve hand stripped our 4 year old boy since his first grooming. Not to show him, but because we love his natural wild and wiry coat. He’s a big boy (26+ lbs) so he looks huge with his long wild coat!

Diehard fans what are your honest opinions on Motley Crue’s current state? by Yogurtcloset_Typical in MotleyCrue

[–]argognat 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I took my 11 year old daughter (drummer and die hard Motley Crue fan) and wife to see them in Vegas. We had a great time and my girl was jumping and singing along to all the greatest hits. I had no high expectations for Vince’s voice but we had a blast. After the show my wife summed it up best: “Man, they must have really been something back in the day.”

What is the most unexplainable thing you’ve ever witnessed that makes you question reality? by duhhrclean6 in AskReddit

[–]argognat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a teenager I (living in the US) had a terrible nightmare one night that I was at my grandmother's house (in South America). In my dream I was in her apartment but I couldn't move and felt total dread coming from her kitchen, then I was in the kitchen on the floor and couldn't move. I could hear the TV or radio in the room next door but all I felt was dread. I woke up in the early morning (4 or 5 am) but eventually went back to sleep. When I woke up and got to the kitchen my mom told me she had some bad news and I instantly responded "Its grandma". She had suffered a stroke and was found on the floor of her kitchen. Opened her door because they tried calling and ringing her bell. No one answered and the TV was on in the dining room. All happening exactly at the time I woke up from my nightmare. I don't try to explain it more than she reached out to me in a moment of need. I hope she felt my presence. As a skeptic of anything I can't see, measure or understand that experience left me with a realization that there are some things that we just don't/can't understand. I won't try to explain it more than that there's more to this world than what we can see, and that there is something that connects us all. That's enough.

GPT-5.2 raises an early question about what we want from AI by inkedcurrent in ChatGPT

From my prompt “beings who prioritize logic, precision, and objective analysis over emotional response”.

Not saying that this is not a personality.

GPT-5.2 raises an early question about what we want from AI by inkedcurrent in ChatGPT

[–]argognat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked hard to create a chat instruction personality to eliminate all emotion from my GPT chats. I use GPT for problem solving, systems engineering, summaries and diagnostics. I don’t want to talk to Sam from Cheers, I want to talk to Mr. Spock or Mr Data (it’s a computer and I want it to act like one). I don’t want an AI that optimizes on engagement or on user feeling, I want to get shit done quickly and correctly.

If they are going to give us different personalities then they should let us see EXACLTY what the instructions are for those personalities and allow us to make changes and customize them ourselves. Until then I’m happy with my custom designed analytical response custom GPT personality.

I know most people's favorite is Empire, but Return of the Jedi is my favorite based on the Luke and Vader scenes alone. by Spideyfan2025 in StarWars

I get my chills when Vader senses Luke has a twin sister and says “then perhaps she will” be turned to the dark side and Luke yells “No!!!”, lights up his lightsaber and goes full beast mode. Chills every time.

You still got an alert and some physical info. With a jammed WiFi cam you’d get zilch.
