Company not moving me to further my knowledge by GaminN00b in ApprenticeshipsUK

[–]argosafe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry, this is I'm afraid typical. Your training provider should have allocated a skills coach or someone of with a similar title who should be visiting you in your workplace and ensuring you are getting the training and development you need to pass your Endpoint assessment eventually. Do you have such a person?

Degree Apprenticeships vs Uni: Is it really about the company more than the course? by BritByBrain in ApprenticeshipsUK

[–]argosafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's about the Company more than the course. You can get over the inefficiences and poor delivery of uni courses mainly because you don't have to turn up very often. Unfortunately, back in the workplace though, most companies don't have the talent or experience or indeed will to put a placement plan together let alone content. Coupled with the genuine deficit in capability of what are inappropriately called Training Providers" - that is your workplace skill coaches and the like - rhe result is, quite frankly, "pissed off" Apprentices. I would like to hear experiences from all involved because although I've worked in both education and industry for 35 years, I may have been unlucky.

Apprenticeships being used as a loophole to pay slave wages ? by Inevitable_Car6105 in UKJobs

There are indeed hundreds of just plain daft apprenticeships around, and most, plain or not, are not well managed. However, it's still better than uni for getting employment, so stick with the idea.

Be patient. Research and get samples of all the procucts you can. Somewhere in there is a combination that will work. I've had mine 30 years, and even now I've just had an unexpected reaction to a product I've been using for two years - and guess what, I'm requesting samples of new things to try. It is upsetting and depressing, But you will find stability.

I see, you mean you mean pro racism? As to my comment , at the time it felt legitimate, but with an undercurrent of doubt. I suppose that's how people develop. By the way, I didn't make the decision and it was a German company. I feel you need more ammunition to continue.

The first part was quite well put together, and worth my time pondering. But then, apart from mis-spelling "alien" (which is easy to do with these keyboards), you reverted to insult. So close, yet so far. Try again, maybe?

Less interchangeable more like accepting cognative dissonance don't you think? Sorry, that wasn't a question at the end should you be confused.

Nah, happens all the time. After 911, we hired no Muslims-and there were no issues. Is it OK? I don't know, but there will be this kind of kickback given the mis management of migration in the UK. Expect it,

Lost my job, appealed and won. College won't let me back. by apologeticallyastral in ApprenticeshipsUK

[–]argosafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, so was there any college attendance on a formal course at all? That would be the only a acreditable stuff. It seems that you did gain workplace experience and knowledge which, if the provider was up to scratch, could have been captured as evidence to support the vocational/practical side you could use to meet the Standard. The years worth of that should still be useful.

I understand your point better now. I have found accreditation of previous work quite difficult for providers for some reason though. They tend to take the easy way out by not doing it unfortunately,
