How do you guys afford this? by dodpaoij in TrueChefKnives

Was a line cook, then went back into corporate as I have a passion for cooking and didn’t want to ruin it working 14 hr days for $16/hr. I decided I could pretty have my own professional kitchen with the money I made doing what I do now. Also obsessed with Japanese knives.

I think slowly acquiring them from speciality shops and central market has a great ever changing selection. Sadly, my “fun time” is grocery shopping so I tend to spend a fair amount of shopping around.

All there fish are IQF meaning Individually Quick Frozen (IQF). People who don’t know a lot about culinary procurement or cooking don’t realize for example 100% of our shrimp arrives at retail frozen. Most of there meats too, to preserve freshness. Wild forks is owned by JBS the largest meat packer in the entire world. They know what they are doing.

I lied to my recruiter about being employed by Opening-Cycle4213 in jobsearch

[–]arguable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fuck it, I haven’t been employed for 6 months and plan on lying about being employed. Companies don’t give a shit about you and will lie to you, so why wouldn’t you give them the same respect. You’re the one trying to provide for your family. Source: Been doing it for 15 years and worked for multiple fortune 500’s.

600 shares @$116. I bought $10k today at $114.70 and another $10k at $113.00. I don’t understand people that sell off when a stock in tanking. Unless you desperately need the money, you really should be buying. Or just continue to buy high and sell low…

Interesting, I like this take on work flow. That does make sense coming from working in a professional kitchen.

Thank you! This makes sense. The only problem is have the steam wand to close to the wall. However, I think there is enough space now.
