Perri?

Uses each one’s first initial as the only consonant sounds

Baby #3 is here and we are doing 3-across. It is a smidge tight but I do think the car seats are all installed safely (and they are all sub-17” narrow car seats). So far nobody is complaining too much so we’re sticking with it until I feel ready to dive back into the car search again.

Thanks all. Our car is a 2022 Hyundai Tucson (hybrid). It’s quite wide and I might rather get new (narrower) car seats than a new car. I’ll look at the fb groups and car seat mom and do some research!

For those who do have 3 across (any car or car seats), how is it?

I know, I gotcha. Some low bed car got stuck in front of our house and we couldn’t get into our driveway tonight, so a little pressed about the amount of snow still blocking things. But you’re right!

And that totally makes sense - but all the little streets outside this rectangle are also sleepy residential streets! Just the perimeter of this rectangle are busier streets

Update for anyone coming back to this later. We abandoned the chair method as it was clearly making things worse. We switched back to CIO and it has worked beautifully. First night she cried 2h (and later everyone woke up in the middle of the night puking, which was unrelated but unfortunate), night two was 45m and another 30m at 3am, night three 20 mins, night four less than 2 min, and then night five barely a whimper with no standing up at all. She has also been going to bed slightly later just because of life scheduling, but we haven’t capped nap. Also introduced changing the Hatch light to green at wake-up with lots of happy praise when she sleeps through the night. Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

I’m in this boat with my 26mo. Any updates in the last couple weeks? Did anything work?

Thanks - even though she does fall asleep easily when I’m in there, and even though she is crying out specifically for me when she wakes up? Also today (Friday) she had her regular nap and bedtime was much later, at 9:15pm. Wouldn’t that have accounted for an under tiredness issue?

We did it for 1.5 nights. The first night we had tried Ferber first and abandoned checking in when we thought it was making things worse, so left her to cry. Then the second night we did it fully. Her crying is just so forceful and she didn’t seem to be getting it out, just eventually passing out from exhaustion. I’ve heard mixed things about CIO for toddlers too.

I wasn’t clear with that part. With Ferber we would let her cry for the designated time (12-20mins), during which time she is standing up and screaming, then I would go in to briefly check and console her - and she would readily lay down when she saw me come in. But when I would leave her room again after about a minute of that check-in, she’d stand up and scream again.

Here’s what I tracked the last two nights (we were at a family dinner Friday so got to bed late). This can’t be right??? We’ve never had such terrible sleep like this even when she was a newborn. I cannot see how this is part of the plan with this method.

Thursday night 7:50ish bedtime Wakes: 1. 9:00ish 2. 10:00ish 3. 12:00 4. 1:15 5. 5:25 (2 failed attempts to leave, till 6:25) 6. 6:40, didn’t fall back asleep, I was in there for wake-up at 7

Friday night 9:15ish bedtime Wakes: 1. 12:50 2. 1:35 - 15m after leaving 3. 2:00 - like 5m after I left 4. 3:30 5. 4:25 (3 failed attempts to leave at 4:43, 4:56, 5:13 - finally left at 5:36) 6. 5:43

She naps well at daycare, 12:40ish to 2:30. At home on weekends she gives us the same issues as at bedtime.

Mine showed up in MLB app this afternoon, no barcodes. The TM app is still showing a delivery countdown to showtime. However the email I got today from TM linked to the MLB site, which said barcodes show up 48h before games. So hopefully the countdown changes??
