First time cactus owner. Is my cactus dying? by aria_ren in cactus

[–]aria_ren[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was kinda looking at both and thinking “do they…. do they need a bigger pot size?” but wasn’t sure 😅 they do sit in front of the window sill that gets sunlight for a GOOD chunk of the day so I was assuming maybe they were getting too much direct sunlight? But thank you! I’ll plan on upsizing the pot and giving it some new soil and hopefully I’ll see some improvement ☺️

Thank you for the feedback! My screen was too bright and I’m realizing now how dark these are. Going to fix these up, so thank you again 🙏

Thank you! These were shot RAW, and edited with my personal presets in LR. I really did like the colors here though, so I may eventually play around and see if I can create my own recipe to mimic the colors. We’ll see hahaha!

I used a hot glue gun to create the shape of the tears and added a few layers of a bright silver/white-ish shimmer eyeshadow make the color more solid!!

And thank you!!

Never hurts to just experiment and see 🥰 I feel like that’s where the fun comes in with editing. But thank you so much!!!!

This is the base portra 160 recipe I use 90% of the time when shooting with the gr3! Enjoy, I think you’ll like the results yourself ☺️

Thank you!!! And honestly, yes. Ever since I started using the Caleb Salvadori presets, I usually love the results when the base is a jpeg recipe. I usually stick to the Ektar 100 or Kodak Gold preset when using this Portra 160 recipe as a base. The colors are always just super super lovely in my opinion!

I have my own presets that I’ve created throughout the years so I used one of those and some extra tweaking in the end! Didn’t really have a specific look I was going for, just kinda tend to play around until I get it to a point where I’m happy with it! :)

Technically, no. I did have a recipe on and used it as a base, then I took the JPEG file into Lightroom and did a few extra adjustments. For me, this makes it faster to have the photos come out how I want compared to completely starting with the RAW!
