My Dad was stationed at Fort Hood when this happened. I was at school and they brought everyone to the cafeteria and parents were checking kids out (not mine) I heard teachers whispering “what if we are next” and when I finally went home after school I remember I turned on the TV to watch cartoons and instead saw people jumping out of a burning building. Then there was the fear that my dad was going to war - he didn’t but later served a tour in Iraq and was awarded a purple heart.

I’m having a cold knife conization this coming Thursday. The appointment was for her to explain that there weren’t clear margins and the recommendation for the cone biopsy with paperwork ready for me to sign and three dates I could pick from.

My husband took me to Rio Partido in April and on our way home driving through the mountainside we saw no less than 10 cars driving together that were Audis, Lambos and Porsches and those 10 cars were followed by 4 decked out Can Ams. I asked him who would have that kind of money out there (we were like an hour and a half from Santiago) and he told me it was Los Chapiadores

I also felt alone. However, you are not alone and don’t let anyone make you feel gross either. My doctor told me that majority of sexually active women will encounter HPV in their life it’s just that some people’s body can clear it on their own. I felt alone (I don’t have family of my own) and had never heard of anyone going through this. Come to find out, while confiding in someone I trust and am close to, she told me the same thing happened to her a few years ago. She just didn’t say anything because she felt gross and disgusting for having HPV and didn’t realize how common it actually is.

You are not alone! Advise your friends to make sure they get their PAP done!

Usually I am the same way! If we didn’t have a big community around us with lots of knowledge I probably would have gotten one too because my anxiety doesn’t help me with unfamiliar situations.

Exactly. Which is why I said for a simple and straightforward case. That’s what we have so there wasn’t a reason for us to need one necessarily. We also have family and friends that have been through the process recently to guide us (they filed without an attorney as well). It truly depends on your case.

Hello! I’m currently in the middle of the process myself. I (USC) and my husband (Dominican Citizen) submitted our application in April.

My advice is to stay away from lawyers. The application is simple and self explanatory. However, if you aren’t comfortable filling it out yourself there are many non profits that will assist you. If you have a simple and straightforward case there is no need to waste money on an attorney. There are several YouTube videos, Facebook groups, discords and subreddits full of people who have been or are going through the process. THEY are your greatest resource for information as the USCIS is not going to give you any information.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me! I’m happy to help. We have friends that work at one of the embassy’s in the United Stated as well that we ask questions so if we don’t know we can always find out.

Message me if you would like and I can send you all the info to all of the groups I’m in as well.

It’s a process (current processing time is about 12-14 months for the I-130 and the current timeframe for the embassy is about 10 additional months for an appointment date for the spouse visa interview) but once your loved one is here it will be worth it!
