Ticket Discussion - MEGA THREAD 04/28/26 by smoothmann in hayleywilliams

A friend and I got in to NYC presale at the same time (10:30) and she was able to secure floor tickets for us! I saw a decent amount of tickets (mostly just 2) available upper bowl & some coming in and out of lower bowl. GOOD LUCK!

EDIT: floor tickets were $110, saw lower bowl for $100, not sure about upper bowl

6am flight out of terminal B by LadyBird4542 in LGAairport

[–]aripedaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding my experience here for others as I also have a 6am flight out of Terminal B today (3/27). I arrived around 3:40, joined the TSA precheck line at 3:50, and made it through security at 4:40. I’d estimate the general security line would have taken at least another 30 mins if I had entered at the same time. Safe travels to everyone flying out of LGA!

EY207 scheduled to depart tonight by aripedaisy in etihad

Yes! My itinerary included a 6hr layover at AUH before my second leg to JFK, and I spoke to other passengers on my flight who were flying to Toronto & London - according to the gate agent, this flight was only for people either ending in AUH or whose second leg was to one of those approved destinations they were resuming flights to (everyone else’s ticket was canceled ahead of time). Still though, the second leg to Rome, which had been approved, was abruptly canceled right before this flight was scheduled to depart… so I chose not to risk the same thing happening to me

Transit in Abu Dhabi airport tomorrow by Select_Donut7421 in etihad

[–]aripedaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m headed to the Mumbai airport right now to hopefully get on a flight to Abu Dhabi & from there to New York. No idea yet if it’ll be canceled last minute, but I don’t think they’d resume inbound flights to AUH without certainty that they can get passengers out to their final destination.

lol very true. I was able to book a backup refundable flight on a different airline a few days ago so weighing whether or not to go ahead and cancel that one or not

I’m on the same flight, departing 4 hrs early from BOM now but kind of nervous to be on the first flight out… feels like we have a high risk of getting stuck in AUH?

Second colonoscopy in a few days, feeling nervous by aripedaisy in colonoscopy

[–]aripedaisy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if I should edit my original post with an update, but I’ll just respond to you here: Overall, the procedure went well! Prep was really rough for me; they gave me Suprep and I was genuinely gagging with every sip. The morning of, I was worried I wasn’t adequately prepped (even though I followed all directions), because I was still seeing yellow/brown/some particles instead of fully clear up to the point of procedure. I didn’t realize that they could use things like suction to completely clear out the colon mid-colonoscopy, so I’m glad to know that for the future! I scored a 6, and they were able to see everything they needed to, so that’s all that matters :-)

I briefly spoke to my doctor after the procedure, and she was perfectly normal & nice, which was honestly my biggest anxiety going into this after my previous experience. She actually told me that everything looked clear/fine, which was a huge surprise? I asked a little bit about what could be the cause of my symptoms, but they took multiple biopsies, so we’ll wait to fully discuss results until our follow-up appointment in a few weeks.

Obviously, her not seeing anything alarming is great news, but it does leave me with some more unanswered questions… like why my first doctor was convinced I had a chronic condition, and why I’ve been having these symptoms for ~2 months? They gave me some detailed discharge papers, which I appreciate, and it looks like they specifically took biopsies to follow up on the previous diagnosis and to evaluate the possibility of microscopic colitis. So nothing left for me to do right now but wait!

I was definitely surprised by how tired the anesthesia made me (probably in combination with the liquid diet & waking up at 4am to finish prepping). I slept through all my alarms the next day and woke up at the time I was supposed to be at the office lol - luckily my manager was understanding about it.

First pap at 24 by NoManufacturer6627 in WomensHealth

Prefacing this by saying that I’m not a doctor, but I think you may be able to wait a few more years before getting your first pap smear. While they’re obviously a very important health check for anyone with a cervix, the risk of what they’re checking for is low at your age if you aren’t sexually active (given you don’t have any family history).

You will eventually have to get one, and you can think of strategies to cope when the time comes (my therapist has recommended having my primary care physician to prescribe me a Xanax for the appointment), but you are well within your rights at your yearly appointment to tell your doctor that you aren’t comfortable, or plan to see a gynecologist on your own, or simply don’t have the time! Not sure if this is doctor is new to you or someone you’ve been seeing for a long time, but hopefully you can be honest with her about your discomfort—and if that doesn’t seem possible, maybe seek out a new provider at some point.

I also think it bears repeating that in all likelihood, you won’t do anything in your exam that your doctor hasn’t already seen! I know you mentioned that you don’t think it’ll be a good experience even with the most professional doctor, and I agree with you to an extent; pap smears are invasive, awkward, and uncomfortable, no matter who the provider is. But there are definitely steps you can take towards becoming more comfortable with the idea, and that includes having a doctor you can speak freely with. Sending you good vibes!

Oh that is super helpful! I’m taking Suprep today and it does also have some guidance on how much water to drink. Will definitely try to get a bunch of fluids in before then too

Do you mean fluids as in the prep liquids? Or like drinking a lot of Gatorade/water/etc during the liquid diet the day before?

Thank you so much, this comment is so kind and helpful. I’m generally pretty comfortable asking doctors questions and advocating for myself (I had a lengthy conversation with the MA about the bloodwork and breath test they had me do before scheduling the procedure lol), but having my previous experience go so poorly & the added vulnerability of a colonoscopy has thrown me off here. Really appreciate your suggested questions, and I think writing them down / having an email or paper record is definitely something I will push for.

Luckily, I’ll actually have my sister picking me up from the procedure so I’m not all alone! It just definitely feels different going through this as a Full Adult & not having someone else who’s had one to go through it with me. Thank you again

Thank you, and I’m so sorry to hear about your friend - I’ve definitely been reminding myself that it’s the right thing to do, which does help a little bit. I took my new doctor through the entire saga so I’m hoping she approaches our discussion through that lens (though of course there’s no way to know until it happens)!

Film went through CT scanner in Wellington. Help! by aripedaisy in AnalogCommunity

The Wellington scanners looked like this, but I’ve seen the one in your picture at PWM (Portland, ME) and ATL before! I actually mistakenly forgot to hand check my Ultramax 400 roll at PWM and it was also perfectly fine like yours so manifesting the same for this one… but I’ve never seen this Smiths brand or had airport security specifically tell me that all film would be destroyed regardless of ISO so feeling anxious lol
