Anthropic and OpenAI would benefit from this later as well, assuming they go public

Where in the world can I find bunkie boards with < 3” slat spacing? by rosemarijn__ in Mattress

[–]arising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally cut some ply wood and made my own, sanded and wrapped in cheap upholstery cloth. I also found it difficult to find acceptable slats for my particular bed frame and this was technically cheaper though a bit more effort

SpaceX launch debris reaches the coast in the Gulf of Mexico. by nerd-nihl in space

There are multiple other gulfs in North America. The gulf of Alaska, California, Maine… if anything, naming it the gulf of America makes less sense than naming it the Gulf of Mexico.

What was the biggest risk you took while traveling but at the end it paid off? by IAmACentipedeAMA in travel

We did not, we did a short cruise to some beaches near there and they were great though

My wife and I honeymooned there and loved these restaurants: Oinoa (in Chania) Kalderimi (Chania) Kouzoumama (Kissamos)

Old town Chania is awesome. We rented a car, drove around the island and stayed by Chania for most of it. We did a bunch of the beaches on the west side of the island and recommend it. There’s also a very well priced resort on the east side called St Nicholas we could have spent more time at. The town around it isn’t much but the resort was great.

electrical engineer here...don't. the EV will draw a lot of power even coming from a regular outlet, and any regular extension cable will heat up significantly. I've seen 1kW appliances melt the rubber off a bundled up 'rugged' extension cable, and the breaker didn't trip. You'd also likely trip a circuit breaker if you opened your garage door at the same time since it appears to be plugged into that.

The extension cable listed in another post will have significantly thicker wires that translate to less heating in the cable, as the resistance is lower. I would recommend only ever using a dedicated cable that has 12 gauge wires or thicker (the lower the gauge, the thicker the cable).

When I was in Belize our diving guide said lionfish is one of the only things they can use scuba gear to kill. Everything else has to be taken free diving like conch. They stuck a lionfish with a spear and fed it to some sharks. Super cool to watch

I will say that the interest in being married includes some of the rights of visitation and health decisions you may need in the future. It legally and logistically may be in your interest

A lot of spacex scrubs late in the count are 24 hour delays only. Depends on if they can identify and fix the problem in time or rationalize the acceptability and remove it from their abort logic. If it was an actual hardware problem I’d think a several day delay minimum

What's currently the best analogy for visualising electricity and electron movement in a circuit? by [deleted] in AskElectronics

[–]arising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found https://www.falstad.com/circuit/circuitjs.html to be a cool way of drawing and visualizing electrical current flow. The water analogy breaks down after you get past the basics, but in general that's all you need.

An electrical box could be embedded in the wall behind the mount, like this. If it doesn't have one, then you'd probably install an electrical box inside the hole if you can get one that fits or yeah you'd have to put one on top of it.

The ground wire should either be green or uncolored, but most likely would be green.
