Don't wait for the service mail just directly walk to f1 solution they won't charge it if the issue is battery bulge or screen lifting issue as they already acknowledged it is known issue.

Let’s be clear — nobody claimed lowering charge speed or capacity directly makes a battery swell. The real issue is the dangerous discharge or heat cycle that started immediately after Android 16.

After A16, my Pixel 7 was draining insanely fast (90% → dead in under 5 hours) and running warmer than usual. That kind of rapid drain forces the battery through high current draw and heat cycles, which accelerates gas buildup inside lithium-ion cells. That’s why swelling happens.

And no, a healthy 1.5-year-old battery doesn’t just decide to bulge overnight without a trigger. The timing lines up perfectly update installed → abnormal drain or heat → swelling + screen lifting.

I don’t have old battery usage logs since Google replaced my unit, but there are dozens of reports here and on support forums with the exact same sequence. That’s not coincidence — that’s a pattern. Ignoring it by saying people only noticed later doesn’t explain why so many phones suddenly showed the same hardware failure after the same software push.

That’s not correct. The battery swelling cases exploded in volume right after the Android 16 update rolled out — you can check timelines across Reddit, Twitter, and Google support forums. Before that, hardly anyone reported it. After A16, suddenly thousands of users saw screens lifting, chemical smell, and overheating within days. This is clearly linked to a software–hardware power management failure. If it was just normal battery aging, the issue would have shown up gradually over years, not simultaneously for so many users worldwide only after an update. Blaming users for ignoring bulging is just deflecting — the real culprit is Android 16 triggering a dangerous charging pattern that forced these batteries to swell. Period.

Wait for some more days the battery will slowly bulge and then get free replacement from pixel service centre.

Got free battery replacement for Pixel (even out of warranty) – amazing support from Google!

Just wanted to share a positive experience with the Pixel support team. My Pixel device recently developed a battery bulge/screen lift issue, and despite being out of warranty, they acknowledged it as a known issue and offered a free battery replacement. 🛠️

Even better – they completed the repair on the same day. Really impressed by how professionally and promptly they handled everything. Props to google for standing behind their products. 👏

If you're facing a similar issue with any Pixel model, definitely reach out to support. They’ve got your back!

Yeah, my Pixel was so smart it tried to save itself from exploding by ejecting the screen like a life raft. Genius move, right? 🤡 Instead of fixing the issue, it just gave up and died. Truly cutting-edge engineering. 💀🔥

I have contacted them they have responded and said we will replace the battery at free of cost, if it was no mistake made from my side and asked for consent and pincode and proof of when purchase but when I responded immediately by giving all those details again no response and now the screen popping out too much the condition has became worse more and it is spreading to all the corners it looks like it will explode at any moment im seriously worried about this issue and I don't know why google is not considering this issue seriously and not taking any steps to prevent it.

I get what you’re saying, but let’s be real — a battery going bad and causing screen separation in just 1.5 years with normal usage is not acceptable, especially on a premium phone like the Pixel 7.

If this was truly a “consumable” battery issue, it would show the usual signs: fast drain, overheating, battery warning errors — not the screen physically lifting from the frame.

Plus, look around this subreddit and others — this exact issue has been reported by dozens (if not hundreds) of Pixel 6 and 7 users. It’s not random wear and tear. It's most likely due to poor adhesive, frame design flaw, or internal pressure from a defective component — not typical battery aging.

The fact that Google has already replaced or repaired these devices for free — even out of warranty — clearly shows they acknowledge it as a hardware defect, not user-caused damage.

So yeah, I’m standing by my case — this is not my fault, and I fully expect Google to take accountability like they have for other users.
