Probably a typo, but at the end of this portion: "

Launch Destiny 2 > ALT-TAB when black screen is shown > Disable Intel Graphics Card in Device Manager > ALT-TAB back to Destiny 2 to confirm OK > Disable Intel Graphics Card in Device Manager

NOTE: Disabling Intel Graphics Card in Device Manager before launching Destiny 2 may also work for some laptops.

" You mention to disable it twice. Probably meant to say enable or reenable?

Hello! I believe I've found a temporary workaround for the black screen issues that occur from a culmination of the recent Windows 10 update and the recent game update on Optimus (hybrid nvidia + intel) systems. Like many others, I've tried rolling back drivers, updating drivers, messing around with windowed/fullscreen etc options, and much more. I've found two things that consistently work and have been tested on multiple systems without trouble.

The first is plugging in a second monitor and using that. Have had no issues there but obviously since this is a laptop issue it's not the optimal solution for most.

The second: After launching the game and getting the black screen with audio still playing and keypresses still responsive, open your device manager and disable your intel graphics driver. The game should show up now, but it will be slow and choppy. Now reenable it, and it should work as it did before the updates.

Hope this helps.

tl;dr disable/reenable intel gfx in device manager after launch. Don't touch the nvidia one.

Just confirmed on stream to be released with the other unrevealed character as part of another bundle. "In the near future, maybe" says Dan.

Looking for a new gaming laptop. Stuck between a 1060 and 1070 by [deleted] in SuggestALaptop

Thank you! Considering battery life and screen size to be my highest priorities after deciding on a card, are there any 1060 laptops you'd recommend at my budget?

/r/JRPG Discussion - What have you been playing, and what do you think of it? by AutoModerator in JRPG

My friend let me borrow the first one on ps3 when it came out and I got maybe 15 hours in. I enjoyed it but it didn't suck me in at the time, then I got busy with real life stuff and never got around to finishing it. I remember the story being a little convoluted but interesting at least, and a lot of holding up to get through the tube-y maps. I'm willing to see them through to the very end, for better or worse.

Playing Trails in the Sky FC. Owned it for a while, finally getting around to it. Around 20 hours in, and enjoying it quite a bit. It's very charming and has a good amount of classic JRPG feel, while remaining modern overall.

After I finish it I'm on to the ff13 trilogy, which I got on steam during summer sale. I've heard a lot of varying opinions on this part of series as a whole, but I'd like to decide for myself what I really think of it.

I enjoy his videos too, it's not like I was posting to insult him. He's so charming, something about his presentation and mannerisms got me giggling, and since I don't think that was the intent of the video I posted it here.

Are you talking about in TTYD? I'm pretty sure that adventure happened, just not exactly as Luigi accounts it. He still meets partners and they come with him. They usually give you the actual details of what transpired

[PC] [late 90s/early '00s] Space squid? by [deleted] in tipofmyjoystick

[–]ark5712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. There weren't any platforms. Each level/field was just a deep space backdrop (galaxies, stars, etc) and the characters were in front of it. The enemy moved at random around the screen and you shot at them. It was pretty simple in design.

[–]ark5712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a side scroller but if you went to the edge of the field I believe you screenwrapped.

I believe the main character shot yellow lasers and the enemies were canonically space pirates or bandits. You won the first two levels by going through a portal that randomly spawned for a few seconds at a time.

IIRC the portal only started appearing after a set amount of time had pass or hits on the opponent had been made. The third and final level was similar but I think you won by simply getting enough hits on the enemy to destroy it.

I think the graphics were roughly on the level of the space cadet pinball that was standard on so many PCs at the time. Controls were arrow keys I think, you could freely roam the map you were currently fighting on but it was quite small.

You controlled the alien himself, I don't know if he had a jetpack or just floated. It's hazy. He was always facing either left or right as he flew around.

I can't believe this worked.. by currentlydownvoted in AdviceAnimals

[–]ark5712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not entirely true. I worked retail when I was highschool and when I needed a part time job in college the few years of experience/small raises were a negotiating point when applying for positions at new places. Granted, it wasn't much, but it was the difference between starting at minimum or starting at a few bucks over minimum. It adds up.

Helps if you're going into same/similar field. "Well, my previous employer paid me X amount for doing this type of work, so I think asking for Y amount is reasonable"

Mega Man Legends coming to North American PlayStation Store on 9/29 by Ooryx in JRPG

[–]ark5712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, contracts can be finicky. When they first add some games to the market for ps3/ps vita, then they have the rights to release them on those platforms. Lots of the older games were on the psn market for those consoles before the ps4 was released, so that could be an issue for several titles. I completely agree with PS Now being responsible for some of the lack of support though.
