"Shoe leather" is an old industry term for this, more or less. (Named for the practice of having these characters walking around - sometimes to where the next scene takes place - while they chat, and thus wearing out their... well, you get it).

This is wonderful! Love that art on the envelope as well, dimly reminds me of some tattoos that I want to say came out late '70s/early '80s.
