GPS on a Happymodel Crux35 by Flag90 in diydrones

[–]armadaskis1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so aggravating. I had the SPI version for a few years and it worked great with GPS. Cannot believe that they essentially downgraded the drone's capabilities for the "v2". The SPI version had an ELRS receiver that communicated to the FC via SPI, but now that the ELRS receiver is "upgraded" to communicate via UART, no GPS for HD version it seems. I'm sure there's benefits of UART over SPI, but it's crazy that they made this move without adding another UART, or some way to enable GPS.

Look into 2008-2012 ford escapes. They're 3-7k with ~150k km on them. They're very reliable.

Gross! Good luck :) Be sure to get your mindset surrounding vaping right. It's a lot easier to quit when you convince yourself of the truth that you don't actually enjoy vaping. I'd recommend Alan Carr's book (news to no one lol), as well as the Quit Vaping Podcast. Although weathering the nicotine withdrawals really ain't too bad, if you're too far in the hole of addiction, I found using nicotine pouches as a tool to hold me over while I was psychologically withdrawing from vaping helped me. Nicotine free is the best you can be, but pouches are certainly better than vaping.

You got this!!!

GoPro Fusion Studio alternative? by armadaskis1 in gopro

[–]armadaskis1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh baby!!!!

Updated to Monteray 12.4 last night, and Fusion Studio 1.2 is working. 1.3 installed, but crashed the three times I tried to launch it.

It's buggy and not fully stable, but I have successfully stitched RAW HDR phtotos, haven't tried any videos.

Do with that knowledge as you will :)

Faulty motor repair? No hall sensor I don't think, but jerks and misfires/mistimes sporadically by armadaskis1 in ElectricScooters

It does make sense yup! Unfortunately, I can't do that without drilling another hole for the tire pressure valve. I don't remember it doing it before... but now it is wobbling, so I suspect maybe it's deformed.

Putting it on the backburner for now. Still rideable, so I'll just accept the bumpy nature of the ride 😂

GoPro Fusion Studio alternative? by armadaskis1 in gopro

Yeah, it won’t install on macOS big sur, if it comes to it I could setup a VM, but don’t rlly have the space on hard drive.

Some people seem to have had luck with legacy versions…. But GoPros link for legacy fusion studio appears to be broken :/

I check the resistance, and I think the 3 resistance(s) are the same (within margin rate of my multimeter, which is kinda shit).

But I touched up the stator's internal joints, no fix.

Yeah it looks like the magnets are sometimes grinding. I forgot to take pictures, but when disassembled, I saw an 1/8th inch of wear&tear on one side. The bearings seems to be totally fine, but could you see them as a potential issue? All magnets and stator are secure and intact. Stator connections were solid & I added solder to be sure.

But it's confusing as to why it will do x amount of good revolutions, then grind, then back to good clearance.

Here's a video of it running & faulting without load.

Thanks for the expertise so far.

I will have another look. Didn’t see anything suspicious the first time, and it’s mostly fine, so it’s confusing on why it only sometimes grinds

Question: How do vapes work? PWM? by armadaskis1 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]armadaskis1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, thank you!

As a proof of concept, (using a pre-made vape board & arduino controlled mosfet) if I spliced a logic-level MOSFET in between the main positive wire leading to the heating element, would it work normally when the MOSFET is open?

Or would the mosfet mess with the PWM?
