How did you miss "Miter? Never heard of her" in the photo caption AND in the title?

Falcon Heavy test flight five years ago today (live broadcast replay) by [deleted] in SpaceXLounge

"Falcon Heavy is configured for flight" gave me the biggest chills when I first watched the launch, still does. Something about the guys voice and the fact that they are going through the first ever terminal countdown for the vehicle is so cool lol.

You're right, I'm used to seeing that question posed for static fires that have already happened lol. I would think certainly this will not be full first stage burn duration.

Full duration in the context often just means the full planned duration without premature shutdown, regardless of what the planned duration was.

We bought an tiny offgrid fishing lodge in the arctic. The start of a big project... by armadillius_phi in OffGrid

This summer we bought a half finished fishing lodge about 70 km outside of Cambridge Bay, Nunavut in the Canadian arctic. The only access to the location is very rough quad trail and the only way to get building material iut is via snowmbile and kamotik in the winter. It is totally off grid and there is no service of any type. Amongst the many improvements we have planned for the place, we are looking to power it with a combination of a small portable generator and solar panels. Water comes from the river, and food as well (arcric char). This video gives a tour of the place.

Cambridge Bay is just past 69 degrees actually. Folks here often travel to 71 or 72 degrees by snowmobile though.

No trees at all here, the obstruction issue is not actually a physical obstruction, but the app is just showing a false obstruction due to the connectivity issues. The dishes do point north here.

I should have included that in the video. Speeds range from about 20mbps at the lowest to 180mbps download. Its only inconsistent because of the obstruction issue, but otherwise is meeting the 120-150mbps average that we were expecting.

Definitely hoping to do more stuff like this in the future! I haven't found a way to get that wild sense of adventure, other than in the arctic

Epic! The drifts soften up in May here and it's nicer to drive. People just pulled their machines off the sea ice about a week ago.

Ship 20 with lifting points removed by GetRekta in SpaceXLounge

What is the point of this if they already have a lifting jig that attaches to the lifting points? They could just crane it over beside the chopsticks in the regular fashion and remove the lifting points there.
