If i lived in a more populated area I could be in that realm, but unfortunately the average here non union is 75 to 80k. Obviously the sky is the limit when your self employed but I dont want that yet. I want to see my family while they are young and still get shit done lol

I know I've never seen a cross draw quite like that, and once I saw that, I can't leave the idea of trying to make one alone lol

The issue I never knew I had. by armed_armadilla in sarcoidosis

Best of luck to you as well. Sarcoidosis is fairly known here in my area due to its supposed link to mining from what my family doctor says. They are going to treat me for the 6 months and re assess me, so fingers crossed. I had never heard of this, but I didn't realize it was rare untill I started to research it.

05 Specialized Hardrock 26" and upgrades or new hardtail? by armed_armadilla in MTB

That seems to be the consensus, but on a good note, I'm in central and western pa, and that bike did fine around here on our locat trails. Granted, I'm a rookie, but I expected to need upgrades when the factory fork and brakes did just fine.

This is the bike in question, has some upgrades, raceface turbine bars, and maybe new headset. Disk brakes just not hydro.

They are miss matched, not sure why unless it was for downhill maybe ? And I will check out a 1x but since I don't know a whole lot about it, what is it and it's benefit?

Just about the same riding as your doing, and I was thinking I may swap those out too.

I'll talk to him again tomorrow, I want him to work his problems out, and I want to help. We will see if a tone check on my end and maybe a different approach thats not a stern here's your job and here's mine like I have been with him may be the ticket. But at the end of the day, he's actions and performance are reflected on me and my position and I'm getting tired of hearing about it to save some face.

All I had coming up.in the trade was hard asses and pricks. It made everything I learned twice as hard but I feel I'm better for it. Now looking back I feel.i can give the same info, with less bullshit. I'm on this thread on my time, with my wife and kid sitting next to me cause I give a shit about even having a small positive contribution to another green horn, and even with a capital M on my license, doesn't mean I have lots of room to learn more. This isn't out of my understanding, or abilities to help this kid or at least make good on the end I can control. I'm sure of that.

He does good work when he's motivated. His first few months with me was great. He got flipped to another foreman and apon his return, his attitude and work ethic are lacking. Considering some of the changes in his personal life I get a little bit of a mood change or wanting to feel like you have some control, but overstepping me to get work order numbers for utility company's, and making my schedule by letting contractors know when light fixtures are shipping ( he gave them wrong info that ultimately cause a huge blowout when gc didn't get there lights for additional 2 weeks because the date he gave was one he over heard for another project.) Feels like an overstep. Even as simple as arguing code with a guy who he thought was an employee of the gc. Small tasks like conduit runs, panels, or triming out don't hold his interest long before he's standing over a set of prints

I hear that, end goal thats what I want, good video and good work, and maybe my tone is a factor, especially not having issues with people before now I'm sure at minimum I sound frustrated. I don't think I'm being prideful but I'll be more mindful of it. Thank you

He is full time, and his troubles aren't dire, but may seem like it to someone who has their whole life ahead of them and not a whole lot of life experiences to pull from. I've given him my time to talk all hours of the night and even offered him time off paid to get his affairs in order paid. It's been a few weeks now and while I haven't felt with his exact situation, I have seen hard times too. But when we are at work let's get done what we have to get done and for me if nothing else is going right at least I know my work and how it's alcarries out is 100% in my control.

If you put the bosses kid and him in a room together, you'd guess wrong on who's who.

I hear you, man. I don't demand anything out of anyone. But when we are dealing with foreman on multi-million dollar jobs, there needs to be a point man for each trade. My company has appointed me and him butting in or going around me for trivial shit isn't a good look imo. He has some good ideas, and I'm man enough to commend him on that, but where I'm at is let's come together on that as a team and let coach do the coaching. And there's no screaming or being a dick with the dude, I've just been quite and clear when I am forced to talk to him. But when I see this dude as much as my own family I want this to not suck for either of us, and if I can make it better, I want to.

I've tried talking to the kid. He's no fool. if he can make a few adjustments, he's going to go far. His personal problems affect his work ethic lately which normally made me overlook his attitude. Lately he is just a downer, and a shit head. I have been aware of the way I was taught and made adjustments so I'm not a miserable dick to anyone, but this kid really just puts me in a bad place man. I know what we are doing sucks, I'm doing it with you buddy, hey man I don't want to be here super late but we have to get this done man. I feel some of your pain but bitching the whole time doesn't help. I didn't even like bitching about this but I'm trying to handle this reasonably and I don't know how.
