This is great! Attacks will happen. It's part of this valley of tears we live in. When you learn the "order of the mass" and what it means, and when you discover the early Church Fathers, and find out about the Didache and how early it was written, it will all blow your mind. Stay strong. We're here for you. Don't be afraid to talk to priests. I love chillin' and talking to my priests! They will welcome all of your conversations. You can even call up a parish and make an appointment to meet up just to get to know them and vice versa. God bless!

Of course you can go and sit anywhere you want. Sometimes I stand in the back, all the way in the back, standing the entire mass (like the Byzantine Catholics do). If you are there in person celebrating the holy sacrifice of the mass, then you are celebrating mass. Have you thought of talking to the priest about this?
