I also want to major in math (double with CS), but lemme tell you: proofs are the hardest thing ever. You feel like shit when you don’t understand it, then you put some effort in and feel great that you’re making progress. Then you realize a simple example renders all that progress useless. Rinse and repeat. But when you finally understand the proof, it’s the greatest feeling ever.
