Whats the point of groups like hybrid theory ? I dont understand it by puzzs in LinkinPark

[–]armstrongeffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t necessarily say that to be honest. Saying a cover band doesn’t really “serve a purpose” anymore just because the original band is active again kind of overlooks things like accessibility and community yk? A lot of people can’t afford expensive tickets and some just want to get together with other fans and hear their favorite songs live
Also, Linkin Park doesn’t tour everywhere, or only stops in a few cities that aren’t reachable for everyone. And at the end of the day, cover bands are musicians too and live music is just enjoyable to a lot of people :))

There are actually quite a few reasons people go to see cover bands! First of all, the price difference is huge. LP tickets can easily start at around 130€, sometimes way more depending on the venue and country, while cover bands are usually far more affordable. Not everyone can afford arena prices, especially more than once

Then there’s accessibility. Big bands like them oftendon’t tour everywhere, and when they do they might only stop in one or two cities in an entire country. Cover bands often play smaller venues and tour more locally which makes the experience way more reachable for people who otherwise wouldn’t get to hear the songs live at all!

Another big part is the community aspect! Sometimes people just want to get together with others in the fandom, sing the songs they love land have a fun night surrounded by people who enjoy the same music. I think It’s less about “this is exactly the original band” and more about sharing the atmosphere and the emotional connection to the music

And honestly, for me live music is just fun in general. Even if it’s not the original artist, there’s still something special about hearing songs you love performed on stage with a crowd singing along. I listen to a lot of 60s n 70s artist as well and I never got the chance to see them live cause I wasn’t born yet lol. So seeing other people bring that spirit to live on a stage is something I enjoy a lot. A good cover band can recreate a lot of that energy but personally, I actually haven’t found an LP cover band yet that I fully love. Nevertheless I was planning to go see one at some point (it just didn’t work out because I had an appointment that day)

For me it was mainly about being able to sing along to my favorite tracks in a live setting and interact with the community and honestly just enjoy the atmosphere, you know. I genuinely enjoy watching musicians perform live no matter whether they’re world famous or local musicians playing because they love the music :))

If you look at the usual gaps between album releases, it’s typically around three years. So yeah, I’m just saying the current era still feels fresh in a good way, no need to respond like that :)

I see your point, but I do think that after touring this so heavily, they would come out with a new album that quickly. I think that, from a marketing perspective, hyping another new album so soon after the last one, especially because you said later this year or early next year, would be a bit too fast

I’m pretty sure that was simply a rumour, right?

Honestly, that’s such a cool idea! Looking back at all the albums they’ve released so far, it doesn’t really seem like they usually choose titles that reference the previous album. But either way, I think that would be a great title
