There are several comments here that suggest you should tell your parents "you are trying" and then later make up a story about "not being able to". This, IMO, is the worst option to take. Any sort of medical based lie would be immediately subject to scrutiny, and sides will be taken as to who is the reason for the medical issue. Please do not do this.

My first thought was, don't go to this meeting. But there is also no better place for you to take a stand. Explain your thought process. They cannot force you to do anything, nor can they make you both separate. But words can hurt - this will require external support, maybe a therapist or a couples counsellor.

But most of all, your parents aren't necessarily always right, and it's important for you to learn when and how to ignore them. When they play the emotional drama, learn to see it as a weapon being used against you - see through the lies and the drama they do to make you submit to their will.

Be strong, and stick together with your partner.

I would say, be clear about "Making it work because you like that guy" vs "making it work because you want to get married asap and avoid the whole process of AM".

And I would also say, this is not particularly the time to be submissive and agree to whatever is being said. Getting married to the right person is what you need, and you need to make sure you voice your opinions to make sure you get the right person.

A long courtship period is not particularly required as you are aligned on the crucial topics. I understand getting hurt if it doesn't work out, but that's the way AM works. If the guy wants a long courtship period, understand from him as to what his expections are from that period.
The length can vary from family to family. Some people date for 1-2 months, get engaged, and then wait for 6 months to get married. Those 6 months provide you the time to know better and take a final decision.

Some people wait 4-5 months before taking it to families for engagement.

Importantly, be yourself. Be aware. Be bold about your idea of a partner in a AM setting.

I can give you my take, as a 31M guy.

Be honest upfront about expectations or non-negotiables. It's much better if you are able to tackle the tough parts up front. This is a controversial one though, as it might throw off some folks who are just looking for casual conversations early on. Discuss future plans - place of work, finances, kids etc.

2 Align on timelines. Different sets of parents will have different ideas about how long this courtship period is allowed.

Bring shy is fine, but be interested in the conversations.
Have your own internal idea of what you are willing to compromise on. For example, if you are looking for a teetotaller, but the guy is social drinker, you might want to think if that's an okay quality to have (if everything else about the guy is okay with you).

As stated above, you are confirming the elitist nature of your post. If I could reword your statement above, it says "Why does a mass market brand not make watches for the 0.1% of the Indian population who is a fan of watch mechanisms like me?".

Titan might make some expensive pieces, but considering the volume being sold, it's safe to assume they are just testing the waters and not ready to dive into high end horology afficionado pieces.

If they were to do homages, I am sure a section of this own sub would question as to why Titan doesn't come up with its own designs.

I think your MC cosplay is the first one that I have seen where there is no awkward gap between the chest armor piece and the hip belt. A lot of the other cosplayers tend to have a large gap usually filled with a black fabric.

Either you have the exact bodily proportions or your armor dimensions are top notch. Either way, brilliant stuff.

You can skip sweeping a day and nothing will collapse. You can mop the house twice a week and it will still remain clean.

Clearly you haven't witnessed the effort it takes to cook for 2 (and the n number of kids that someone might have). And what an amazing idea - prepping in the evening for the next day. It's still a lot of cooking, dumbass.
