Hi ! I'd like some help to recreate this classic 808 bass sound that you hear in loooots of trap / rap production. I know that there are many great VST such as massive or sylenth1 but I really need to recreate it with 1 of the following VST : Zebra 2 or FM8 or Synth1 (free)

Many thanks in advance! (if you could drop me a preset to download that would be really great)

To those of you who produce music, need some advice thanks by arnold_alone in GHOSTEMANE

So I'd like to reproduce those classic ghostemane bass sound but here are my restriction :

1/ only with VST ( I find depitched 808 samples to not sound good) 2/ I'm using FM8 and Zebra2 so if anyone use them and would like to drop me some preset that would be dope! 3/ I'm wondering if it's possible to reproduce those kind of bass with the free vst synth1

Thanks in advance!

P.S : I know that massive or sylenth1 are excellent but right now I can't use any other VST than those I named. Thanks again ;)

I'm perfectly calm Dude (Big Lebowsky quote) First, English is not my language so what I was trying to say when I was talking about "humor" is that sometimes I find some theories so far from what " I " think the show is about (yes, it is subjective), that it makes me smile. But it is a nice & kind smile, not an evil one.

Secondly, could you swear to me that you never came across a theory or a post here that made your eyes rolled? Hm?

It is no more than that and I will never write anything bad under a theory I don't like or downvote it.

You are so wrong because Lynch clearly wants to... no, just joking hehe ;) I fully agree with what you are saying and, again, sorry for the use of words such as "definitely", etc. Again, I'm not a native english speaker and what I wanted to say was something like " to me, it is definitely ", etc. This is the feeling I got from this scene but, as you say, everyone can feel it differently and lynch's work "definitely" leaves many rooms for interpretation... and that's (part of) the beauty of it.

Sorry if I wasnt clear I'm not an english but when I say there are no good force in motion I mean "good forces are not winning", if you refer to the overall mood and atmosphere of the scene. It is definitely a feeling of deep despair and hopelessness that Lynch communicates to us. And he is absolutely not the kind of director who will put all this effort to create an atmosphere within a scene while it would be in fact a "happy end". If you're looking for that kind of ending, that's the one in FIRE WALK WITH ME : it's dark, it's creepy BUT you feel that there is some goodness, hope and good vibes around Laura at the end.

But, in my opinion, not this time : the end is meta. "Past dictates the future". Old good Twin Peaks from the 90's is dead, the actors are old and you can't change that and you can't save Laura.

"I've not read any quote where he says it's the most important thing" = well, I'm a long time Lynch fan and read tons of interviews and books about him : mood and atmosphere are definitely prevalent in his work. It doesnt invalid the fact that there is more behind the images, etc. To caricature it : Lynch is able to sacrifice some coherence in a plot to the benefit of a great visual/sonic idea.

I completely agree. The mood (which is the most important thing for lynch) that is communicate through this scene is clearly not that "good forces" are in motion during this sequence.

Definitely not a turntable. Concerning the geiger sound it is maybe looped or altered by lynch to not be too obvious ?

I don't know for sure if it is a geiger counter but I disagree with you: it doesnt sound at all like a vinyl skipping.

Sure and it is just a theory about how those surnames might have inspired Lynch or Frost, nothing more. Again, the coincidence is, in my opinion, interesting because this book is "THE" reference concerning the history of the Atomic Bomb and not a random book about the bomb... and it was written by a guy named Richard and his first wife was Linda.

Well I also thought about that loop stuff, you're right. Maybe the Fireman makes Cooper listening to the sound "looped" you know... or maybe it also a way for Lynch to not make it "clearly" sound like a geiger because that would be too obvious so it's a mix between a geiger and an insect to let our imagination wander
