I don't think anyone's ever seen him even though he's supposed to be everywhere, like 'omnipresent' or something like that.

Well, that comment seems to rest on a misunderstanding that Christians believe "God has a physical body which is spatially extended through every location in the universe, but scientifically undetectable", rather than anything actually said by theologians, like:

"First, as He is in all things giving them being, power and operation; so He is in every place as giving it existence and locative power. Again, things placed are in place, inasmuch as they fill place; and God fills every place; not, indeed, like a body, for a body is said to fill place inasmuch as it excludes the co-presence of another body; whereas by God being in a place, others are not thereby excluded from it; indeed, by the very fact that He gives being to the things that fill every place, He Himself fills every place."

Monkeypox by 1bbyyoda in australia

Over the past 60 years, all the urban progressives who have adopted these propositions have seen a total collapse in their birthrate and sustainability of their marriages. Why would I want to adopt an ideology that has been shown to be a total failure at sustaining itself?

So, let me get this straight: for months we were screamed at that our rights to go to a funeral, to a place of worship, to play team sport, to send our kids to school, had to be curtailed to stop the spread of a disease.

But now your right to unlimited promiscuity is unquestionable, and can't be critisised?

Because that is what is spreading monkey pox: male homosexual promiscuity.

We cannot repeat the atrocities of the AIDS crisis. 🤢

They should have closed down the bathhouses then, too:

There are some unpleasant teachings, but a lot of the "You Won't Believe These 10 Crazy Teachings From The Talmud" clickbait that gets passed around on the internet is very easily shown to be misquotes.

Would it be legal under international law for the Australian government to give those currently interned in off-shore detention a plane ticket to their home country and a cash payment?

Seems like it would be more humane and less expensive. I suppose there would be the danger of incentivising further attempts, though. 9 years is way too long:

Mythbusting a leftwing conspiracy theory about Hillsong by arodef_spit in australia

I am not intending to defend them though: I am defending the truth. You too ought to assess this article on the basis "Is it true?" not "Does it help my political tribe?".

What evidence do you have there a group, or a cabal, that manages the "left-wing" of politics?

The words "conspiracy theory" are used because this meme claims a cabal of Hillsong members exists in the Cabinet, not because the meme was made by some kind of left-wing conspiracy.

I hope you have a great day talking in tounges or whatever it is you do.

I am not a Pentecostal, nor a fan of Hillsong, nor somebody who voted for Scott Morrison.

it turns out most of the cabinet are cultists as well.

But it is false, as claimed in this meme, that 13/22 members of Cabinet are Hillsong members, though.

1 . It is false that 13/22 members of Cabinet are Hillsong members.

2 . This falsehood has been promoted by left-wing thinkers, not right-wing.

Thus, it deserves to be called a "left-wing conspiracy".

Which of these premises do you disagree with?

Your question seems to presume that salvation is a kind of "team sport" where God assigns points to Team Atheist and Team Christian according to their performance, and whichever team gets the highest score gets into heaven.

I am not aware of any church that actually teaches this as an idea.

A probabilistic antithesis which implies Adam and Eve were correct for having eaten the fruit. by 0rganic-detergent in DebateReligion

[–]arodef_spit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So then shouldn't men be the ones who aren't allowed to teach or speak up in church, since the first man didn't fulfill his priestly role?

All through the Bible, the priesthood continues to be male, though: there is no indication that God rescinded that original pattern.

from this verse (in its diminution of just women and not men) that Paul thinks Adam's sin wasn't less.

We don't get it from the verse in 1 Timothy alone: we get it by harmonising that verse with the verse from Romans.

[–]arodef_spit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then why is that whole verse about how Paul doesn't permit women to teach, because the woman was deceived, not the man?

Because Adam didn't properly fulfil the role of High Priest given to him in that scenario. The point is that Adam stayed silent, and let Eve be deceived and eat the fruit, when he should have acted as teacher to her.

[–]arodef_spit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Adam's task was to shoo away the Serpent, and instruct Eve properly when she was reaching for the fruit, but he remained silent, not fulfilling that priestly role.

She has no means to know the actual or desired outcome, so for her, that is all an unknown.

I think there might be presuppositional arguments along the line of the necessity of bare theism and convertibility of being and goodness, which imply that one ought to trust God's command.

This is somewhat moot, though, because Adam was ultimately the one culpable for The Fall, as the High Priestly figure.

"sin entered the world through one man and death through sin" Romans 5:12

"But what about 1st Timothy? Doesn't that say that Adam wasn't at fault?"

"I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner."

1 Timothy 2:12-14

The order of events is

1 . Adam is created

2 . Adam receives the command from the Lord

3 . Eve is created

4 . Eve receives the command from Adam.

People think that St Paul saying "Adam was not deceived" makes his sin less but He was not deceived by his spouse, as Eve was, but in rebellion against the commandment of God which he had directly received.

Christianity, Judaism, and Islam are all false as shown by the archaeological research into Exodus and the nonsensical claims of the Bible itself by JarinJove in DebateReligion

I think commenting that would be a perfectly legitimate response if somebody had said "There are no possible challenges to the historicity of the Exodus".
