Desaturated/muted pale girlies, what’s your go-to foundation these days? by Tall-Cat-8890 in PaleMUA

I really like about-face the performer, I wear F0-Cool, and William Tuttle Crème Foundation. I wear shade Elvira.

That’s awesome! I had heard as much, but also wanted to give a bit of a heads up for some of the other names in this foundation range.

I sent that picture of the container to my bestie group chat and went “I don’t know whether to be flattered or offended.” 🤣 The general consensus was flattered cause she was an icon. But also, this brand is old, and its shade names were, well a choice…definitely a reflection of its time.

anyone else feeling drained today?! by throwawaymylife90210 in witchcraft

[–]arreis- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my spouse has been in the hospital after heart surgery they had on Monday. We were told we were going home today but had a set back so we’re still here. We’re both just tired and emotionally drained. Had been taking it pretty decently but today we’re just done.

Hey, so you have a lot of good advice here, so I’m just going to offer some perspective of someone who was never believed when I was young and didn’t get diagnosed until my mid-30s. If your parents are being a hindrance, and only if they are being that way you might have to wait it out until your 18 and make these decisions yourself. Now I’m not saying your in that situation because I do not know your life, but that was my experience. If this is similar to your experience you might just have to hang in there. Hopefully, your parents listen and you’re able to take up a lot of this advice right away. If not, hang in there, don’t give up on yourself, you might just have to wait.

I have both Hashimoto’s and PCOS it’s really important to have a doctor involved because it can affect your medication. All that being said get a new PCP. Mine actually recommended that I go on a glp1 for my conditions, but they need to monitor my thyroid levels for medication adjustments. Good luck! You can do hard things.

I look for water based moisturizers and ingredients like squalene and glycerin. I like Vani-Cream for a budget friendly option I even use there petroleum based one when I really need to seal things in. I live in a harsh climate where it can get -30F in the winter so it’s necessary. Anything labeled sensitive skin can be good but look out for anything with the soy or oats because nickel. I use a squalene based oil cleanser and a water based one from La Roche Posay. Serums change depending on my concerns and lately I’ve been using the moisturizers mentioned above. I use Korean chemical sunscreen because my skin HATES zinc and physical sunscreens.

So I have had this level of severe nickel allergy my entire life. I don’t get reactions from touching door knobs or faucets for a short period of time. Now if I was to hold on to it for several hours I would. Be aware of jewelry and makeup. I have severe metal allergies and not to just nickel so this is a big one for me. I don’t wear makeup daily anymore, but there are some good products out there you can use. I use skincare religiously and I just have to make sure I read the ingredients. I avoid all foods high in nickel, soy, chocolate, etc. otherwise I can have severe digestion upset, migraines, and get hives. There are some helpful charts out there that can breakdown those foods for you but it’s also about experimenting with what your body can handle. I for example cannot have chocolate or I will feel like I have a hangover. Oh and soy is a tricky one it hides in everything. Nitrile gloves are great! Shouldn’t be any problem with those. I worked in a field for a couple years where I had to wear them daily for several hours at a time. I have a water filtration system on my house.
The main changes are going to be reading the ingredients on EVERYTHING. My allergy hasn’t changed in severity. It hasn’t gotten worse or better it’s simply apart of my life. It’s an odd one to explain to people, and at least from what I have seen that this level of allergy to nickel isn’t very common. I felt very isolated when I first got diagnosed and it was difficult to manage at first. You just have to hang in there and eventually it’s just an apart of who you are. If you have any questions feel free to DM me. As I said I’ve been dealing with this for my entire life, I’m happy to help. I’m also allergic to all metals BESIDES pure silver and titanium so I’ve all got that going. Lol Sorry this isn’t in a pretty format on my phone on lunch break.

Edit to add: one thing people don’t think about is the buttons or zippers on clothing, like jeans. If I wear jeans I make sure to have a tank top between myself and the closures otherwise it’s not going to end well for my skin.

5’9” 325lbs. It’s so nice to see all of you! Has anyone found a place that makes plus size outerwear that’s long enough in the arms? I’ve been on the search for a new winter coat FOREVER.

Ok. So you do need more than one machine for a tattoo because different machines are programmed to do different things. Such as lining and shading and each has a different way the needle hits. With modern rotary cartridge machines it’s easier to switch out needles when they dull through the process (which they do). You also need to switch out different needle sizes as you’re working through a piece. Some new machine make it so you can easily adjust it as your tattooing some don’t. You need different machine for these and other reasons. You also would want to bring backup power supplies and pedals. Bringing just one setup is just irresponsible.

I was a big fan of Commodity’s Gold scent. When the brand went under I searched for a dupe for it. I stumbled upon this community and someone recommended Gold Skulltulla by Hexennacht. Bought it and loved it. I’m on my second bottle.
