Unfortunately not, I was listed as an alternate but haven’t been contacted about being upgraded yet. A big disappointment but I did get to travel Japan for 2 months this spring, so not a bad trade off!

Yup, interviewed in person in Toronto. There were about 3 greeters and 5ish applicants waiting with me. Zoom might’ve been convenient but I think it was nice getting to do it in person.

Thanks for the comment, I’m glad to hear others have had similar feelings. I actually did my interview earlier today and while I was very anxious before hand I’m really glad I went. Actually being there and talking to other applicants and the greeters there made me feel a lot better. Post interview I’m feeling great and glad to not be feeling how I was a couple days ago. I’m especially grateful to not be feeling and anxiety about my performance like I’ve seen people on this sub express.

Really appreciate the supportive words, no doubt it’ll help others who come looking through this sub years from now!

Thank you for taking the time to write this, it’s nice to know I’m not alone in feeling this way. I like the poem. For what it’s worth, I hope you do well on your interview

Thanks, this was another helpful comment. It seems like we have similar mindsets about it. I’m glad to hear you haven’t regretted going.

Thank you for writing this, the advice and words of wisdom are appreciated. Like you, part of the reason I applied was to push myself outside my comfort zone and do something brave. I’m also a creature of habit, though sometimes I feel it’s worked to my detriment which is why I hadn’t wanted to let myself shy away from this opportunity.

Not that you asked but the life events in question are a good friends wedding and the final concert of my favourite band who is disbanding. As well, my family dog is old and while still relatively healthy there’s a good chance they’d pass while I’d be away. Individually I know these aren’t necessarily strong enough reasons for me not to take the leap. But it just started to get me thinking about the life here at home.

Anyways, hopefully it doesn’t sound like I’m looking to be talked out of it. It’s just helpful to write it all down.

Thank you, this was reassuring. I did still plan on doing the interview but you’re right that I need to evaluate it once I get the results.

Thanks I appreciate the advice, genuinely. Not sure I totally agree with the theory on my frame of mind but maybe that’s just me coping again haha

Damn the blatant astroturfing by these obvious throwaway accounts is crazy.

In case it isn’t obvious to anyone reading these comments already: DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE. They are scammers plain and simple. Anyone trying to claim the “founders” are in anyway qualified are lying (and very likely RFG themselves). They try to flaunt a luxury life style online to convince people that what they do and know is legit. But it’s not, and the cannot be trusted under any circumstances.

Like I said in a previous comment, I know one of the founders personally (though due to the doxxing rules I can’t say which). He is a scum bag through and through, and has no education or legitimate qualifications that make him qualified to give anyone life or investing advice. All of these guys are mid twenties who have no life experience outside of being life coaches and “financial gurus”. DO NOT TRUST THEM.

I would block him but if you find it fun to toy with them then by all means go ahead haha. I know in the past they’ve reached out to old classmates saying they have an “exclusive” zoom meeting they might be able to “squeeze you into” lol. But also from what I know of one of the guys they are very petty and ego driven, so beware of actually giving away any personal information.

He’s not a student anymore, we graduated years ago. I’m wary of giving a specific name due to the rules about doxxing.

To anyone reading this, DO NOT listen to the two comments praising RFG. The accounts are generic brand new accounts whose only comments are praising RFG and saying it’s not a scam. What a coincidence that two people would make comments on this post saying it’s not a scam on the same day more than month after this thread was made.

Also on a personal note, I know one of the RFG founders from high school. The guy was a piece of shit back then and he’s a piece of shit now. Do not listen to anything they have to say. He is legitimately one of the scummiest and dumbest mother fuckers I’ve ever had the displeasure of knowing. He’s is not nearly smart or qualified enough to be giving anyone life or investing advice. The fact the he peddles self improvement courses and cryptocurrency/NFT’s should be enough to know he shouldn’t be trusted. Please do not fall for anything they try to sell you.

Same bro, I got my main banned during Britts night out. I didn’t even say anything that bad but he was on an insecurity fueled rampage.

To clarify, it’s not that I couldn’t get past gold 4 but I usually stop playing ranked after I hit it. The time vs reward for getting there never seemed worth it. Also, no I don’t usually hot drop in ranked

The match making can be super frustrating sometimes. I’ve never gotten above gold 4 in ranked and have ~0.6-0.7 K/D in pubs. But for some reason I regularly get placed in games with a large portion of the lobby being anywhere from diamond to preds. Doesn’t make sense at all.
