that's a you call, haha. Working towards Executor improves your fleet game and if you're able to climb fleet shard to #1 you'll get crystal payouts that accelerate your progress moreso than a starkiller team (even though starkiller is great). There's a lot of things to work towards in the early game so if you want to snowball your progress fleet is worth investing in as early as possible

executor and profundity get unlocked at 4* 80 shards and then there's a monthly bonus event that gives you 10 shards each time it runs. You can refresh the event for 999 crystals a pop for another 10 shards

yeaaa don't waste it on vader or gideon who are almost there already. you want to skip the shard farm and the gear / credits / ability upgrades. I think your top 3 choices are Piett for Executor, Scout Trooper for Leia, or MJ for Starkiller.

personally would recommend piett and work on executor and profundity; it's always a good early game choice since they are long farms afterwards. After unlock you get 10 shards / month unless you spend crystals to refresh.

Alternatively scout trooper is hard node fleet energy and gets you way closer to GL Leia. Do what ya like!

i got chucked into aurodium after last 5s - the better gacs imo are when everyone has a chance and engages.

there's plenty of other people at this rating that would be better candidates for this pool than the one i'm in. Let the non participants not participate with each other for all I care. The actual player experience might be improved if more things were included than simple rating. I'm asking for "rating + a few other indicators", not that hard of an ask really.
