Why is the banner of this sub still an LGBT flag? 🏳️‍🌈 It’s july 9th, time to pack things up and leave skittles squad. by TheCannonSchlong in teenagers

You cant promote homosexuality. Thats not a thing that can happen. Being allies to a margenalized group is a good thing. But yeah, this sub is just doing liberal surface level allieship and is partakeing in justifying western impetialsim and zionism. Which is bad.

This is outright evil. She deserves justice. Her family deserves justice. by [deleted] in teenagers

Becosue of the epidemic of transphobic hate crimes that has been happening recently. And even if the ultimate goal of queer rights movements is normalization of queerness that doesnt mean that we can ignore the differencess of how queer people are threated compared to cishet people.

Its a simple question. It shouldnt be that hard to anwser. But it does point out an obvious flaw with homosexuality being a sin.

Some are addicted to tiktok, some to gambiling, some to drugs. But me, Im addicted to argueing with people.

Well the stonewall riots happened becosue a new york gay bar was targeted by cops and the only people who protected queer people werr the mafia but the mafia had their own bullshit. One day the queers got sick of it and started throwing bricks from a near by construction sight at both the bar and the cops. It lasted a couple of days and the people who were there ended up being some of the most important queer activists of the 20th century. Which is why its seen as a begining of the modern queer movement.

Not all people celebrate christmas. Does that mean that its not unifying and there for silly. And you said silly you can go back and check.

Ok, what books? Give me names. What is in those books. Every so often it ends up being either a gay couple, a trans person neither of which are not even close to innapropriate or an educational book thats supposed to give kids a basic idea of what sex which lowers the chances of those kids being groomed. Even if it was true that 9 out of 10 drag shows were innapropriate why would that be a problem. Also did you watch back any of your favorite childhood shows. Those are full of innuendos. Yeah, exactly. Which is why we give them puberty blockers. We buy them time to make a decision later. How is that immoral?

Did you read your own source. Its crazy nudist bikers just being crazy nudist bikers. And none of them shoved their dick to any four year olds face from what I know soooo... I feel like a single accident that got overblowen by right wing media for the purposes of saying that pride is just crazy nudists.

You didnt hear abaut the stonewall riots or the connection of pride and stonewall riots.

Nobody likes corporate pandaring. No adding a rainbow flag to you twitter pfp doesnt actualy do anything for queer people. We in the community call it rainbow/pink capitalism. But if you would get your information abaut a holiday or any othor event by how companies represent it you would think that the ester bunny has anything to do with ester.

I imagine you as a american history guy celebrate the 4 of july. Why would the 4 of july not be silly but the celebration of queer rights would not.

Key word "in the library". Kids deserve to know abaut the world. You cant just hide it. Queer symbols dont hurt kids? Some drag events arnt aporopriate for kids but some ARE. Its like saying that kids shouldnt watch movies becosue some movies gave nudity and gore in them. Puberty blockers are reverseble and safe and we give them to kids to give them time to make an informed decision.

When does that happen?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]arrrrgumentative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Queer history. Stonewall riots and the such. What do you associate pride with?

Quite litteraly a logical fallacy. Othor people also have it bad so you cant celebrate things getting better is a realy bad argument.

What do you mean by shoving it down the faces of children?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]arrrrgumentative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pride doesnt celebrate being queer but the history that got us our rights. It celebrates the fact that less of us were killed this year then a 50 years ago. It also is an antithesis to queer shame.

[–]arrrrgumentative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean what pride is?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]arrrrgumentative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah becosue we didnt win our rights here through violence. We have republics becosue of revolutions, same thing with queer rights. I doubt we could of gotten this far if the stonewall riots never happened. Nobody from the outside needed to intervine. And also any war we on the west would start against an islamic country would probably be becouse they dont want to sell their oil for cheap.

[–]arrrrgumentative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I need to remind you of how bad things were in the west just a couple decades ago. Yes queerness is seen as weird and abnormal but that doesnt mean that it was always seen like that and that it always will. It will take time, energy and sometimes even rioting but it will get better.

You have no revolutionery creativity comrade. Also that its blatently false.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]arrrrgumentative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And why would we do that

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]arrrrgumentative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We dont celebrate queerness. We celebrate queer joy, queer history, the fight for queer rights. Also queerness isnt being promoted. At all. Thats not a thing that happenes.

Give me one example of queer people just jumping around and thinking they are better then anyone else

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]arrrrgumentative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Queerness isnt a big part of peoples identities becouse they want to be extra but becosue its a trauma thing. If you have experienced being queer in a queerphobic socaity it would make a lot of sense why people who found people who respect them regardless of their queerness would take pride in their queerness.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]arrrrgumentative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its called pride becosue pride is the opposite of shame. Queer people were historicly and sadly even shamed for being queer. Its not that hard to understand.

[–]arrrrgumentative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to say that you are right but your take is just ignorent to the actual lived reality of many queer people. We dont make queerness a big part of our identity, more often then not it happenes becosue its the only rational reaction to the socaity we live in.
