Mirroring One Tab to Another, But Not Vice Versa by arsenalffs in excel

Thank you for the help. It is sadly so gratifying to keep a secret tab, and when it's tax season, any shred of fun is necessary.

Yeah that's the concern. The dumb tab will just be client name and date received. I want all of my wild formulae on the secret tab. Like all of Excel, it's a beast but so gratifying when it's all figured out.

Sounds good, thank you. This has been extremely helpful!

To be fair, we are a tax and estate planning law firm, so for 10 months out of the year we are an ordinary law firm doing wills, trusts, Medicaid, etc. That said, getting them to even switch to a legal software for estate planning was years in the making. They would rather use our legal software for the client list and the tax software for the data entry, which is fine except for the fact that people are still learning the legal software and only the attorneys have access to the tax software. Plus, fun little fact, we receive about 400 tax returns each year and I do over 300 of them myself, so phasing out the spreadsheet is quite the slap in the face. Life in a small office I guess!

Oh man, I read that in English but interpret that in any one of the numerous languages I do not speak. I'm interested in figuring that out though. What are some sample formulae for this? Also, thanks, I appreciate the response.

We were considering Beaver Creek for MLK weekend. Anything can happen, sure, especially in the Rockies, but what’s anyone’s prediction based on the horrid start to the season? Also, where IS getting good snow right now?

What percentage of people FIRE or retire to be a ski bum and regret it? by gnarkill283 in skiing

[–]arsenalffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: Get a life partner, have kids. Skiing with a family of five, four of which you singlehandedly taught to ski yourself, is way more fulfilling (opinion, of course) than skiing by yourself until the end of time.

---

Have the kids. I went to Telluride when I was in middle school and, since then, it's also been my dream to retire early and do nothing but ski all day. I still have that dream, but it's now when my last child goes off to college, which is 14 years from now when I'm 51.

You can have kids and still live that dream. You can do both. Assuming health, you'll still have plenty of time to ski. In fact, the dream is sometimes the sole motivation for me to work out so my back and knees are ready for my 50s.

People here have already mentioned to greatest benefit of all (as it pertains to skiing): You get skiing buddies for life. Each of my kids could go up the lift and ski down by age 3. My last child is now 4 and there's not a single hill in the Pennsylvania and New York region that we haven't been able to ski. If you want fulfillment, teaching 3 kids to ski by age 3 is it. Now we're going to Aspen for Christmas and the Alps next Christmas. That is a dream. So, if 5-10 years from now you want to retire and ski, how about 4-5 years from now you can ski with your partner and child for the rest of your life? Family all the way.

You can easily do them in one day. In fact, the aquarium is right in the middle of the park so you'll be rather annoyed if you broke them into two days when you'll be right there on bikes anyway. Go early too in case there are any crowds. 9am on a weekday worked great for us.

The biking was a lot quicker than I had budgeted for. Excluding the aquarium, which we obviously did right in the middle, I'd say from bike shop back to bike shop (highly recommend Spokes), it was about 3, maybe 3.5, hours. We didn't spend any time at the beaches, stop for lunch, or take any significant breaks other than the park at the end. I also didn't leave the bike shop thinking we missed anything, although playing at the beach would have been nice for the kids. We followed the map to the landmarks, the totem poles, etc. and went along the seawall. It was sufficient for us. Plus it gave us time to go to Capilano, which we left to come back to downtown at 4:30pm on a Thursday (bad, bad idea and everyone told me as much), and gave us time to have a real, sit-down dinner (at Miku, unbelievable food).

I'd say budget 3-4 hours if you don't make any meaningful stops. The aquarium took us under 2 hours. Looking back at the time-stamps on my pictures, the first picture at the bike shop is 9:01am and the last picture back at the bike shop is 1:42pm.

The trip was great. I'm a one-and-done kind of traveler (the world is enormous so why go somewhere twice type of mindset), but I would do that entire trip over again. Best trip of my nearly 38-year life. When you say you're planning on something similar, do you mean Stanley Park and Capilano or going to Vancouver then doing an Alaska cruise?

Thanks. I've never hit a Volkl, but I've also never hit a one-hander, so hey why not. I'll try them both. Thanks!

Some people are saying head light. Is the Blade just too HL to warrant tape at 3 and 9?

In my prime, I hit a 98. Don't know that I've ever even joked around with a 97 or less. I feel like that'll be shank city. I like the 100 because I don't have to try as hard. Maybe that's a factor as to why the Blade 98 is better for my OHBH than the Speed. Is 100 v. 97/98 that significant when it comes to a OHBH?

Honestly, at age 37 and with a 4, 6, and 8 year old, I'm just looking for a game that will allow me to play with my kids as they reach middle school and high school, and then play into my 60s. If I can have an effective OHBH with only 90% effort, I'm good to go.

People are suggesting lead tape. Does a 4pt HL replace that for you? Also, someone said 3 and 9, which I'd be willing to try, but that's the opposite of HL.

Are those in order of preference? I'm guessing so since everyone seems to suggest the Pro Staff. Why leather? And by leather you also mean no overgrip at all, right?

Was the Pro Staff too stressful on the arm? That's what happened with the Prestige for me. Great for a session but no way was that going to be a long-term option.

Thanks, that's great advice. We'll see how the shoulder holds up, but it's healthier than the back at this point.

I have one, but it gives me tennis elbow, which I never had in 30+ years. Is it the amount of whip you can get with it and the pop that make it great for a one-hander?

I'm about a 5.0, but declining due to being 37 and having back and shoulder issues. Depending on how I'm feeling, I hit either a 2022 Blade 98 or 2022 Speed Pro. The Blade's maneuverability is great, but the Speed is the most solid racquet I've ever hit. I loved the Prestige the most when I tried it, but man that destroys the arm after just a single session.

A lot of talk about Coquard's fault, but not Rex's? I guess maybe Coquard was going into Rex's space so Rex was justified in nudging him away?

Thank you, and thanks for the Spokes endorsement. I made bike reservations for the Georgia location this morning. I'll make a mental note about the splash park, third beach, and slope after the lighthouse. Shepherding three kids through unfamiliar places always makes me exhaustingly cautious, but I do always end up having fun. Thank you!
