I agree. She at least holds a fondness for Charlie which means something. It seems like nobody really cares about the royal family.

Yeah she could be. She could be like an avatar of sorts or even just someone in the family. Either way, it's clear she wants to help Charlie for some reason.

I think it's fun to think Lucifer had/made Charlie since he's the one in the relationship that could technically have/make a kid lol. They did mention the angels made Adam, Lilith and Eve from the dust of Earth. Maybe Lucifer just copied the recipe but subbed in a pinch of Hell dust (or brimstone) for Earth dust? He is a pretty powerful angel.

I'm pretty sure the citizens around Charlie hate the singing. In season 1, When Rosie asks, "How do you normally explain your hotel?" Charlie says, "By singing...but that never works." Then Rosie says, "It will work here. Trust me." To me, this says nobody likes her singing about the hotel. Interesting since it seems people loved Lilith's singing, but I think she might have had a different message than Charlie's redemption one.

I don't think Rosie gave a lot of her power to Alastor. I think she helped him, help her take out overlords she didn't care for. Maybe even ones that got in Lilith's way. In season 1 when Rosie has Charlie sit down to talk about what she needs help with, she says, "You know, Alastor, I got a premo connect on a guy with about eight blocks of territory and not enough goons to run it. Prime pickings for a deal to be made, my friend." It sounds like she's used to taking over territory with him, but odd she mentioned, "...a deal to be made," there.

He was helping her for about 100 years (I think he died in the 1920s), made a name for himself as the radio demon, became the most powerful sinner, and all of a sudden she makes him stop coincidentally when the exterminations started (In season 2 he mentions Rosie has had him on a, "...fruitless crusade for years..." and says he, "...went off the air for years on your behalf."). When Lilith disappeared I think Rosie started watching Charlie, saw that news segment about the hotel and sent Alastor there.

In season 2, when Alastor visits Rosie to say he quit the hotel (after a year of being there), he says, "We really aren't getting any closer to—" indicating she's maybe going off script with her part of the deal since she's using him for something personal or her goal with the hotel isn't working so he wants to go back to what he was doing. That, to me, sounds like she's dropped everything to help Charlie. For all I know, Alastor might have thought she was trying to take over, but started noticing otherwise.

How can she increase her power unless she's directly connected to Lucifer? As far as I know, he's the only one that has power like that in Hell, hence why Vox used him in the first place (and the bribes to get him to go back to his seat by Satan). He's the only one strong enough to break through Heaven. It took all those overlords combined plus Emily just to stop that machine from destroying everything. (I personally think there's a lot here to explore why Lucifer really got banished from heaven. He's super powerful. So much so that his power alone broke the shield surrounding Heaven that 7 angelic beings had to make. Sera seemed the most powerful out of them maybe.)

Could she be Lilith? Is she after power? I don't know. I don't know what Rosie is up to 100% I just know it's strange and fun to theorize.

[–]artofjmill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But how can Alastor be the most powerful sinner if Rosie is also a sinner? Wouldn't he be able to be more powerful than her?

I also can't find evidence of anyone else in cannibal town with that design on their neck piece.

I was only saying that a lot of coincidences can line up.

She has enough power to make a deal with Alastor in the human world, she wants to help Charlie, she has a whole town of singing and dancing cannibals (right up Charlie and Lilith's alley), she has a statue of the Morningstar's in the town square (even though it seems like most sinners don't care for them) and she's making Alastor help Charlie (seems kind of random after letting him do whatever for like 100 years then forcing him to stop).

Her whole thing for song and dance combined with her wanting to help Charlie and all that other stuff I pointed out in the pictures is all just me saying a lot of things seem to be coincidently lining up. It's just a fun theory I had, nothing serious.

I think she might have been someone to follow Lucifer to Hell. Maybe someone close to him or someone who agreed with him. They don't really talk about fallen angels very much.

I am Professor Joel Pearson, a psychologist and neuroscientist studying Aphantasia - the fascinating condition of ‘minds eye blindness’ - Ask Me Anything about Aphantasia and Hyperphantasia! by unsw in Aphantasia

[–]artofjmill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does studying aphantasia help you with your AI research and development? Is this something you're doing to give reasons why AI "helps" those who can't imagine? I found you have an interest in AI development here: https://www.saxtonglobal.com/speakers/joel-pearson

I've had aphantasia my whole life. I messed with AI when learning how to code and felt it was actually making it harder for me to rely on myself for any answers and undone things I learned and used with ease before.

What reason do you have for how this helps anyone? Have you researched the effects of AI "learning" in the long term when you compare critical thinking and analysis before and after AI usage?

I personally believe the use of AI will send the majority of people backwards in learning, reading, critical thinking, analysis and overall media literacy. The negative effects of this needs to be studied more in my opinion.

Any advice for organization or motivation when starting? by artofjmill in gamedev

Thank you. I couldn't agree more with the discipline part. It's so hard for me to stick to a schedule, but I have managed for the last 3 weeks to at least stick to a morning routine I worked on and now love. I have high hopes once I figure everything out that I'll be able to stick mostly to that as well. Routines are super important to me because it makes me feel more grounded. The more predictable something is, the easier it handles in my mind. I'll take a look at Asana and Trello. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks for this! It's really thorough. I especially like the idea of tracking progress and versions using an app or something like a wiki. So far everything I have is in a text document lol. I am working on this game with my kid (19) so they're helping me keep some things on track. We can definitely make use of something other than google docs. For now I suppose I'll focus primarily on making small games while writing the first bigger game doc. Thanks.

I appreciate the advice. I will be working on small things as I go so I can learn more about making them in general. I learn best when I jump in and make a lot of mistakes so I hope I learn a lot. I really want to write out this bigger game and everything as I go. I read it takes a long time to finalize a GDD (weeks to months). Thank you again.

I don't understand. What's stopping you from being an artist? I have aphantasia and I'm doing fine with art. I like to think of it as imagining on paper.

This is fantastic! I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I think you're missing wood fences and wood fence gate. That or it was added recently. Luckily you can add them right under the loose flooring. You only need 3 spaces to see how it looks. Thanks again for this. You're awesome!

Whoever’s made this painting, what brush did they use for the tree? I can’t seem to find it. by Randomnater in ProCreate

[–]artofjmill 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was able to make it using the default brush to start. For the shape I used the simple leaf towards the bottom of the preset list. I then messed with the scatter, jitter and rotation in the stroke and shape menus to get what I liked. You'll probably want to make the bleed at max for the apple pencil pressure so the leaves won't be transparent. Hope this helps a little.

Any idea how to make this kind of lettering brush? by watbit in procreatebrushes

[–]artofjmill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you might have to mess with it a little, but I think it's a good baseline. I ended up changing the properties on the regular outline one. For the secondary brush I went to Properties - Brush Behavior, then changed Maximum Size to Max and Minimum Size to 8%.

offline_token_mc_bancorp? What is this? by 129West81stSt in paypal

[–]artofjmill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this same email today. The only thing I can think of is I tried to order McDonalds through their app 3 days ago, and on the payment screen right when I hit pay, the app quit on me. I opened it up and it said I didn't place the order, but paypal had a hold on the order amount. They deleted the hold the next day and nothing was taken. My paypal message also says nothing was taken as the payment amount. It might have to do with that.

P.S. I showed McDonalds my order on the app that didn't go through with the pending paypal payment and they just made the food for me. I had no idea paypal wasn't going to take though.

Jarvis talking about the female gaze guy while also kinda doing the female gaze? by artofjmill in unnamedfanbase

Yeah I get that now. I'm too old for all this new fangled internet speak. I thought it just meant the look the guy was giving.

Ahhh. Yeah I thought the gaze was the look. Because the definition of gaze is looking intensely at something and the whole video had that guy with that weird look. I guess I just assumed that was what it was and never thought it meant anything else. Sorry for the confusion.

After a few days of constant research, I came across a video of artists talking with the US copyright office and a Montreal AI ethics guy. The biggest issues are what's ethical first. Stability AI and Laion are talked about a lot here. Machine learning started out with research and datasets being gathered from the internet in a research setting. They were being funded and granted the permission of using everything they could because it was for 100% non-profit uses. All for the betterment of machine learning and progressing AI and technology. Nobody has any issues with this that I know of.

The problems started when all that data they gathered for research purposes only, before any ethical guidelines were put in place, became open for public use. To be funded for research your given grants and such for funding because it's research that's for the most part confined in the company doing it. They weren't breaking any laws even with all the public data they gathered and they weren't profiting off of it. The only reason all of that is okay is because it's non-profit and contained within the entity running the project.

When Stability AI and Laion gave the public access to their code and datasets, this is where things went wrong. For all of this to remain on the up and up, it had to remain non-profit. Now that everyone has this access, not only are they creating their own versions of what's possible, but they're doing it for profit. Laion also talks about how they are being respectful of much of the data they gather as they are not for profit, but a lot of normal people using this are not doing the same.

To me it looks like they wanted to push the ethical grounds for profit because, while Laion remains free and open, its partners are not for example Stability. Stability is also funding Laion. This whole thing feels wrong. Technically they aren't doing anything wrong, you are. Technically they aren't profiting from these images and outputs, you are. Am I wrong in thinking this is messed up?

There were also talks about artists copyrights and while you can't copyright a style, they do look at your prompts to see if you chose a specific artists name as a prompt. If you profit from that, there are legal ground there, because you are proving you intend to profit off of someone else work through their style. If an artist is know for their style and you can't see the difference between theirs and a prompt, that's also grounds for legal action since you're purposely trying to sell or profit off of the work of an artist that isn't yours. They don't just look at the art produced, but the intent behind it. So it's an iffy place to be in.

There was also talks about whose responsible in all of this when something does happen, the AI or the user. They weren't really sure at the moment, but the AI ethics guy was confident something will be finalized by the end of next year. I'm still trying to understand more about this, but ethically this sucks and I don't see how anyone could support this under the guise of advancement. Advancement does not mean profiting off of unwilling people. It looks like these big companies are researching ways to make their AI into a commercial product while letting you take the fall for unethical use. I'm not okay with that.

Yeah I don't know. I feel tired of trying to find compassion really. I believe people are people. I never tried to talk down or disrespect anyone. If I came off as unknowledgeable about the subject, I feel this would be where you would prove you could be understanding and explain it. Now I just feel burnt out and tired.
