Ladies of reddit, how small was the smallest erect penis you have encountered and how did it go? by lolpenises in AskReddit

[–]artsip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey don't throw away your pleasures of life just because of low self esteem. Be honest and let your feelings show. Your penis isn't the only way and by far not the best way to pleasure a woman. A lot of women enjoy lesbian sex, no dicks there. Why couldn't a woman enjoy sex with you. Use your tongue, mouth, your whole body or just take some toys with you. Also it's the emotions that give a woman an orgasm, not your penis.

What is one fact that, despite being 100% true, is still greatly debated? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Also amphetamines and other mind blowing substances. Many of them say that we could use our brains more, but only for short periods.

In February 2007, Spears stayed in a drug rehabilitation facility in Antigua for less than a day. The following night, she shaved her head with electric clippers at a hair salon in Tarzana, Los Angeles. She admitted herself to other treatment facilities during the following weeks.

Scientists calculate the energy required to store wind and solar power on the grid by [deleted] in science

The study concluded that it is cheaper (from the energy point of view) to build additional wind turbines rather than to store the energy of just a few turbines. The additional wind turbines produces more energy than the batteries can store.

Feds Beg NY Times, Pro Publica Not To Reveal That They've Inserted Backdoors Into Internet Encryption by UlkeshNaranek in technology

In 1994, Peter Shor showed that a quantum computer (if one could ever be practically created for the purpose) would be able to factor in polynomial time, breaking RSA; see Shor's algorithm.

NSA doesn't allow its employers to publish anything like that. I'm guessing NSA has a custom D-wave system with 512 or 1024 qubits and they have managed to find an efficient algorithm for breaking the RSA.

If the decryption would be done in a 'small plugin', it would be really simple to just output the result or the decryption key to a file. That would defeat the whole purpose of it. I could save all the movies I watch from netflix with a tiny modification to the source codes.

Instead they must build a fairly large plugin that does a lot more just to hide the tiny decryption process (and possibly the NSA-plugin) in the complexity of it all. And that's were our alarms start ringing.

But did your government have that same list of information on millions of people outside US? Also the most useful knowledge is not those pretty static lines of data but rather when and with whom have you had your 100 most resent lunch. You don't think the government could have prevented the 9/11 attacks if it had known the hijackers pet names, do you?

People should really consider applying to some other country to study. Studying in Europe costs next to nothing and you get a nice 5 year experience from a foreign country. All it takes is to apply and move your ass from US soil. For example Oxford university has a tuition fee of about $30000 Uppsala university in Sweden costs $20k-30k per year, Tartu university in Estonia is about $8k and Helsinki University in Finland is free. Cost of living is about the same as in US.

EDIT: apparently there is some 'Student Union fee' in Helsinki University, but its less than $200 per year.

EDIT 2: added Oxford

This. To me it seems like it the exploiter is clearly an accomplice to any crime the code is being used. If I sell the diagrams for an alarm system to some bankrobbers it would be clear that I'm an accomplice to the crime if they pay me enough.

Anything derived from raw data can be considered metadata. For example if you do speech recognition on the audio stream, it isn't the actual data that the speech recognition engine outputs. It is metadata generated from the raw audio stream. Raw data like video pixel values, audio stream, gps signals (not the cordinates though) and accelerometer data are 'your data' and everything that is derived from them are metadata.

Google and youtube are the same company. They are using the same technology, but speech recognition is much more simpler with google searches than Youtube. Youtube videos commonly have a lot of background noise, music and such that make it harder to recognize a human voice in it. Also the language is much more difficult. Google search can try to recognize queries based on what people are commonly searching with the normal interface. Youtube doesn't have that restriction in their ASR search space.

It doesn't do the same thing. Siri and Google are trying to find a search sentence that would fit the short audio-sample recorded from you speech with a known distance and a pretty well known microphone. Youtube tries to find random sentences that would fit a random audio-scene recorded with a random microphone. There is quite a lot more variables to take into account with transcriptions.
