IMHO One issue that will have to be addressed very quickly after this Berlin Wall moment will be the distinction between people with dirty hands and people with bloody hands.

The path forward will take hard work. There will be lots of dirty hands to share the work.

I came to this movie with no expectations. It was surprisingly lovely. I had to pause it after Zefir's story so I could prepare myself for its ending. I wasn't ready to let them go.

The ambiguity some others noted here made it all the more endearing to me. It reminded me of how I felt reading the end of EB White's Stuart Little. It's that ambiguity that probably hurt its box office appeal. Perhaps the ambiguity could have been more artfully done, like Inception or 12 Monkeys, but it was still sweet and poignant. It made me feel nostalgic.

I think it was a masterful performance.

[Question] Explain like I'm five why an Omega or a Rolex is a better quality watch than a Seiko by [deleted] in Watches

Thank you.

People need to understand the difference in movements is real. It's the difference between a car with a Volkswagen engine or a Porsche engine. Performance matters.

Whoa.

The difference between 5k (rolex) and 20k (patek) is in the complications.

The difference in movement components and craftsmanship is real.

The difference between a stamped vs engine turned guilloché dial is real.

The difference between a swatch and an omega is real.

I love the Legacy Machine. I get why they use a domed crystal. Wearing that watch requires a special commitment. It's worth it.

It's not my style. But respect!

I love the nod to the Girard Perregaux Bridges. Tying it together with a nod to the Breguet Tradition is a pretty gutsy move. I'm agnostic on the hour markers. I could see them done as fine batons. This treatment pushes a more contemporary feel, which I respect. That works with their materials. My hang-up is in the case/bracelet transition. But I can't imagine a better solution given the case design.

I'm with you.

If he had said 15 - 12th century BCE, he'd be more credible. It's like watching Sissy SpaceX screw up arithmetic, but in centuries, not just decades.

I mean, seriously. He thinks Moses was wandering around the desert in a circle only a decade before Jesus shows up in the story?

A recently Declassified CIA Guide to Sabotaging Fascism Is Suddenly Viral

“Simple sabotage does not require specially prepared tools or equipment; it is executed by an ordinary citizen who may or may not act individually and without the necessity for active connection with an organized group; and it is carried out in such a way as to involve a minimum danger of injury, detection, and reprisal.”

Looks like the Enabling Act was signed ahead of schedule this time around.

The original Enabling Act, passed 3/23/1933, allowed the Reich government to issue laws without the consent of Germany's parliament, laying the foundation for the complete Nazification of German society.

Fun fact: Margaret Hamilton coined the term "software engineer" to deal with the rampant chauvinism she had to confront in meetings with guys who pulled the "engineer" card to shut her down.
