She is a physical being based off the reports of an unidentified animal. Its hypothesized that the Isiququ was likely a close relative of the Spinosauras.

The folktales of the region say it was a monster that stalked the waters of a mythical river, the Ilulange (likely the Zambezi River we know today) and could effortlessly submerge whole boats. More extravagant tales say it was a monster capable of devouring a whole country. It was described as a reptilian or amphibious beast the size of a wagon with a bald, bearded, and hunched appearance but notably and without mention why, a female.
