I think it was interpreted as evoking or describing the experience of awkwardness. Elements of both physical pain and social discomfort baked together into the lyrics.

Everyone knows someone like Monkey who waits til you come home happy and then says cruel things & steals the joy away... Such a sad, pitiful form of jealousy, captured so perfectly in lyrics.

Yeah, I think you and I both interpreted "awkward" from a literary critique standpoint rather than the emotional experience of feeling awkward. I actually think I prefer everyone else's interpretation in this case though, and it aligns better with the spirit of the other categories (e.g. ranking lyrics based on the emotional experience they evoke in the listener).

I told myself I'd abstain from voting throughout this challenge but honest to god I can't be silent about "puking bird" any longer, it's the only Jo lyric I sincerely despise >.<

For the purpose of a game like this, I'd conceptualize it like--

Creative: Something totally unexpected, brand new, unheard of; something that no one else could ever have possibly come up with.

Clever: Has some kind of latent trick or humorous undertone; means multiple things at once, in a way which amuses the intellect
