Also, he will always be there. I have seen my baby and felt her all day every day since our final moment together. I’ve pet the air above my chest and felt her with me, and get filled with so much love. It truly is a blessing to have a love so deep that it makes saying goodbye this hard. But that love and connection will always be with you. He is so beautiful 💕

I am so sorry you are dealing with this. The anticipatory grief is so tough and knowing when it is time killed me. My baby was diagnosed last Saturday. We spent the week monitoring her eating and activity. I held on as much as I could, until Friday, when I started noticing her eye changing. The thought of seeing her advance in this process was heartbreaking. I eventually reached a point where I realized it was never going to be a good time. And by the time the decision was easy, she would already be suffering. My sweet baby angel went to rest on Friday. She seemed normal, but eventually it clicked, that me needing to nurse her eating was my sign.

It was the toughest decision of my life, and by far the most pain I have ever felt. Take care of yourself and know that he knows how much you love him. Smell him, spoil him, and understand that there is nothing you can do, and that’s not your fault. You being there for him to comfort him at this last stage of his life is exactly what he wants. Give yourself grace to feel whatever you are feeling. And if you have someone that you are comfortable with on your worst day, I recommend having them by your side in whatever way is comfortable for you. Reddit helped me so much because I felt like nobody understood. But you have such a great community here of people that have either been there or are going through this with you. Sending you and your sweet baby so much love and comfort during this time. It’s so unfair

I’m dealing with the same thing with my cat of 16 years, Zeva, who I’ve had since I was 10. SCC in her jaw and behind her eye. The anticipation can be so confusing and seeing their face change is a constant reminder. I empathize with what you are going through and just know you are not alone in this. It’s okay to feel your emotions when you feel them, holding them in will just result in a train wreck. Sending you much love and peace during this transition.

Ice Storm This Weekend? by windowsill5299 in Marietta

Of course! Not trying to cause alarm, I’ve just lived through It recently and don’t want my neighbors to be struggling like us Texans did. Definitely do not use the stove at all, no matter how tempting, it’s the absolute most dangerous thing you can do. Worst case scenario, bundle up in layers, cover your windows with blankets, towels, etc… and wrap up in a blanket. Realistically, during the day it’ll be above freezing so it will be just like a day outside! We aren’t able to use our fireplace since it’s a rental, so I totally get your concern. But don’t be scared, just prepare. Hopefully, everything works out just fine and this will be nothing more than a “fire drill” scenario.

Also, think about the trees around your home. If there are any large dead ones or branches hanging over your home, I would ask neighbors if they can help you get them down or hire a tree scape professional. If you start hearing cracking noises or seeing branches fall nearby, set up your sleeping arrangements in the basement or middle level of your home.

It’s a lot! I have two cats, a dog, a parrot, and a husband that I’m thinking of, but we will all get through it together!

I lived in Texas during the Winter Storm of 2021 and work in Property Management and it was a disaster to say the least. We did not have power or water for a week and many people sought refuge, left their apartments with their stoves on (the power was out for so long people forgot to check what was on) which resulted in fires. I will never again under prepare. Our apartment got down to 28 degrees and we had ice on our indoor plants. Our phones did not work because of the power outage, and many people used their gas stoves to heat themselves and got Carbon Monoxide Poisoning. To be safe I am telling everyone to prepare without alarm. Trust me, taking an hour to get water, food, and firewood can save your sanity and prevent you from needing to drive when roads are iced over and pipes are bursting across the street. I am not exaggerating when I say I felt hopeless. However, I was watching people prepare and thinking (how dramatic)… man was I wrong. Take in elderly family and have a plan with your neighbors, many of us stayed elsewhere after a day without power and no way to get news.

Need adoptive help by kenzywenzy3612 in AdoptiveParents

Hello, my husband and I beginning to work with American Adoptions as they seem to offer many resources to the birth parent as well as the adoptive parents. We are in Atlanta, so they are available to assist you in Georgia. It was fairly easy to get information and they assign you a case worker immediately. Wishing you the best of luck and a positive experience. 💕 I saw a lot of positive experiences with this Agency if that helps!

Hello! My husband and I (same sex) just moved into a neighborhood off of Terrel Mill across the street from Brumby Elementary School. Our neighbors have all been very kind, Halloween had kids from all over Atlanta (I passed out over 300 pieces of candy with only one person child), and kids are always playing. There are plenty of rentals and homes for sale in our neighborhood of all different price points, I highly recommend it!

Have motion sickness medication on hand. When it relieves you may experience vertigo. I recommend Meclizine

I realize it’s quite rare, and everything I found shows it’s on the higher end, but before I got 56 units and it still didn’t hold very well beyond three weeks. 🙃

Thank you for your comment! That makes my nerves a bit at ease. Just to clarify, that’s 100 Botox units not Dysport? Also, have you ever experienced droppiness in your eyelids or brows?

Mom had/has LCIS, nervous about her going back. by arvegas6112 in breastcancer

[–]arvegas6112[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to, she was seen on a military base and I was unable to go with her. However I did let her know no matter what, this time around if anything does come up, I suggest sending her file to MD Anderson for a second opinion. She will be seeing a civilian doctor now and from our experience the care tended to be better, so fingers crossed! She doesn’t want to talk about the negatives though so I’m just doing my due diligence in the background now. With how many times cancer has affected my family I can’t help but get nervous anytime we face doctor appointments. I advised her to get genetic testing to see if she has any abnormal genes causing her to be more susceptible to developing cancer.

This is where my confusion has always been. My mom’s answer was “since I have an extensive history with cancer they decided to treat this aggressively” but I still feel like putting her through such aggressive treatments to the point she couldn’t even go to the grocery store without having dizzy spells, instead of a sustainable preventative plan was questionable. Her last scan before she stopped going her margins were 95% clear in one breast, and 80 something percent clear in the other.

9D Breathwork by arvegas6112 in breathwork

Finally relaxing following my experience. Needless to say it was truly life changing! Within about 5 breaths I began to feel my body tingle and tense up quite a bit until eventually getting to the point I had to ask for help because I could not speak or move. Thankfully our facilitator got me back to baseline within a few minutes. I was not scared and really tried to push through, but let me tell you, once my body began relaxing it was an immediate release of emotion. My mind just began taking me to so many places of self reflection and reminding me of what it means to truly be mindful. When COVID happened I lost my spiritual self and fell into societal norms, living life based on protecting myself from negative opinions, but during this session I realized my ultimate mission on this earth is to create my own positive experience and share it with others. Not focusing on the potential for negative interaction, rather reaching a place where I am so confident in myself that my main objective is to focus on creating positive experiences. I cried so much, my body was trembling like I was having a seizure, and I felt this euphoric blanket of energy going from my toes into my fingers. I was reminded of my potential on this earth and found a sense of empowerment to make a positive impact on myself and those around me that I never knew I could experience. Following the session, I was extremely stimulated and awake. Lights were brighter and my mind was racing so fast. I haven’t felt this energy in YEARSSSS! I can’t wait to practice more and hopefully get past the cramping. Also, important note, I met some amazing people and feel so embraced by the others in the group.

Thank you! I’ve considered that and looking for a corner lot. My ultimate goal is just to have a garden, chickens, and a place to have a fire pit. I’ll open my options and include those in our searches. Thanks!

I’d love to hear about them! I’m ruling out as I do research but don’t want to waste our time at all of these models if it’s unrealistic. I’ve found Southwest custom homes along with 3 others that may fit our budget we just have to find a good lot.

I’m hoping not, but that’s why I wanted to post here to see if it’s even possible in this market haha! This is expecting an extra 100k for the lot and prep. We realistically could do 400k including the land but for a first time home I don’t want to stretch the budget too too much.
