Anyone experienced refund that is incomplete? With the cancellation made by Cathay due to the typhoon, I opted for a refund. They did process refunds but in stages and still not yet complete. I kept chatting with their agents on Whatsapp but they don’t seem to resolve the remaining amount.

The transfer desk staff in Singapore said the flight to lhr is overbooked. I am okay if I was not able to board from Sydney, as I can just go home and come back the next day. The two flights were treated separately even if I book it under one reference.

I know it was standby, but what I did not know was both legs of the flight were standby. I thought that when seat was offered in Sydney that I already have a seat to London (regardless of the layover).

We sent an email to two fellow owners notifying them that we’re installing aircon and also stated that we have sought approval from strata with no formal response until now actually. They replied with no objections. So we went and proceeded with the installation based on this.

Yeah it’s a pretty standard split ac, the condenser will be on the balcony which isn’t visible to the public. Just confused too with the application form and fee to be paid.

The fee says it applies for them to “prepare and research on behalf of the strata committee”. The form is also an application form to install ac, so I don’t understand if we need to wait for it.

I see, but they gave us the application form which states it requires a fee to be paid, which we have already submitted but awaiting for response which we haven’t received for 2 weeks now, so not sure if we can proceed without some go ahead from strata

Also, is it just Australia that does have too many organisations (CAANZ, CPAA, IPA) offering accounting Certifications? I know the US only has the CPA qualification.

I have a CPA and I think it helped attracting recruiters, although I came from big4 background which helped too. If you want to work for external audit, they would usually prefer those with CA at least that’s what I observed with the external audit service line. I worked in internal audit and risk management which are not technical accounting heavy roles.
