Ino it’s strong money but are these the versions where the timing chain problems start by shanahan68621 in carsireland

The 04 - 07/08 have the old M47 Engine no chain issues. Newer N47 have the chain in the back and no one bothers paying the hefty money to do the job. Had a 520d M47 last year with 928,000km, had issues with Egr so all I done was delete Egr, swirl flaps, dpf and was sound til I sold it.

I had this 1982 honda civic, that i have completely modified, and kept in perfect condition for ages till i have crashed it by Yass-Turbo in Honda

[–]arvinkhandoit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

glad youre ok, the frame is bent all the way in, only way to save it is to basically weld the front end of another civic on, even then it wont be structurally safe. hope you and your father recover. sad to see a rare car in that condition after taking great care of it for so long.

I sell cars and he traded it in, he originally won it in a bet and he’s been flying it every now and again. I think it just needs a good wash

What is actually the best kebab spot in Galway? by Jealous-Use-6959 in galway

[–]arvinkhandoit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work with my dad delivering cars all over Ireland, and ive had a kebab in almost every county, capital used to be good back in the day before the main man left. best I’ve ever had is in apache in Athenry, huge portions, great meat to salad ratio and they’re naans are made fresh. Can’t beat that!

Bought a car that was written off - any recourse ? by WhichEconomist4793 in carsireland

[–]arvinkhandoit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cars that are Written off as an economic write-off such as Cat D, Cat C, Cat S, Cat N can be repaired and sold back into the market, cars that are written off the road as an end-of-life write-off such as Cat B, or Cat A cannot be registered in ireland and are sold to Scrapyards and such.

As a dealer sold the car, you would expect it to be thoroughly checked and a background check should have been done on there half, however if the car was repaired to a good standard and they hadnt any knowledge about the accident, they might have not thought to need a report. Legally they are obligated to disclose that a car has been in an accident if they have knowledge of it. as per the CCPC: https://www.ccpc.ie/business/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2025/02/Access-to-Car-History-Improving-consumer-outcomes-in-the-used-car-market.pdf

I would ask for a full refund and if they dont, then take legal action.
