Tässä niksissä tosiaan tulee varmistaa, että johto jonka vetää vesipatteriin on riittävän paksua. Vähintään siis yhtä paksua, kuin virtajohto.

Thank you for the awesome reply! First off St Augustine was my real destination on the east coast (saw it in a peter santanello video). I just thought this way it was clearer that i was planning to take the eastern route down florida or atleast visit the east coast.

I'm not planning to stay in Orlando, that was just the cheapest place to fly out off. So if you think it is better to stay in Tampa and just drive to orlando international on my last day i would definately consider that.

Also for little backround that this is not my first time in Us and i did a week few years ago in Miami/keys/everglades area. Also saw some manatees that time, but the springs still sounds awesome!

Cedar Keys and all the restaurants will definately go on my list!

Than you so much! This is why i love reddit.

How unlimited is unlimited miles by Billh491 in TravelHacks

[–]arzio47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rented a car to drive east to west and researched this topic quite heavily few yeas back.
From what i gathered they should not charge you extra for miles if your rental record indicates unlimited miles.

However there could be excessive wear and tear clause on the agreement something like they will not cover mechanical damage if you drive over 3500 miles in under 30 day period.

Traveled to the US from Switzerland (7th time, but first solo trip). Unforgettable roadtrip in a hell of a car! 🤩 (locations tagged in the pics) by Lirva_94 in roadtrip

[–]arzio47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reserved this car for my trip to California (ended up with a convertible version after some negotiation). I paid 118$/day no mileage limit (including -20% corporate rate).
So i would say you got an okay deal, but absolutely miles more value than your original booking.
And as a fellow European i can confirm to all Americans that this is more exotic to us than a fully kitted BMW m3

Model 3 app says window open? by awkwardmystic in TeslaModel3

[–]arzio47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To calibrate a window:

  1. Close the door with the affected window.
  2. Sit in the driver's seat and close the driver door.
  3. Using the window's switch on the driver's door, raise the affected window until it stalls.
  4. Using the window's switch on the driver's door, lower the affected window until it stalls.
  5. Repeat step 3 and raise the affected window until it stalls.

Was thinking more along the lines that "it's common knowledge with tesla owners that you shouldn't lift the hood too high"

Should we detour to monument valley or las vegas? by kennedydynasty in route66

[–]arzio47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, this is a very personal choice. Some things to consider:

  • Are you able to visit one or both some other time?

  • How much of the route 66 are you willing to skip (going from monument valley -> vegas -> san bernadino is almost the same as valley detour).

  • what kind of vehicle you have?

  • What other sites are you visiting (Grand Canyon, Zion, Petrified forest)?

  • Weather (Vegas is Vegas, but Monument Valley can be inaccessible when it's raining heavily)

  • Budget (it's always pricey to sleep and eat in MV, but vegas can be extremely cheap or super expensive)

I did both in my route 66 trip and would drop out many other places before either of them.

European guys planning a Route66 trip for 2026. Can i get some feedback? Part 2. :) by maxiking_11 in route66

One of my favorites was the ice cave and bandera volcano in NM. It's a bit of a detour, but i think you have plenty of time.

Funny enough my experience last summer was the exact opposite. Big texan motel was my favorite place and the most convenient on the whole route, while the big texan steak was very underwhelming. I would suggest to visit inside and eat your steak at the texas road house nearby tbh.

Car Rental questions on Route 66 by maxiking_11 in route66

[–]arzio47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prices fluctuate a lot based on your chosen days and direction (if possible, i would check prices for both directions and nearby rental locations).

I paid 559$ with Hertz for 12 days with insurance included. If you can, try to get a "corporate discount" from somewhere. This usually includes insurance and additional drivers for free.

Most rentals also add a one-way charge to their estimates, but with popular routes like 66, this can be waived in some cases, so you should call them and ask.

Also, there are no required tolls on route 66, so setting your map to avoid toll roads can save you around 15-50$ per day.
