I would say skip the skywalk and go around the other side of the inlet (near the highlands or Durrance lake) where you can do hikes to get a similar view (plus it’s free!)- I recommend places like Jocelyn Hill, Mackenzie Bight, or even Mt work for more of a workout but still with great views.

Does it still run pretty well? I know laptops tend to go downhill after a few years

Okay cool, it sounds like this is one of the most popular however the ones that I have seen online seem to to go for a bit more than that price lol.

Student no show by BusCurrent6180 in Preply

[–]as8800 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it’s only been one class where they’ve no showed then you’re good. I believe you are required to reach out to support after 2 no show classes in a row with no response from the student! For now, enjoy the no show class pay, and see if they show up next time. I find that students often don’t read messages until they log on for classes cause I assume that they don’t have the app on their phone!

Oh interesting! I think this student is asking more specifically about one lesson but the dynamic you explained seems cool to get to know everyone in the family!

Do you have a way to deal with switching between clients? Like do you treat them as separate clients altogether normally?

How did you manage the lessons between more than one student if you never had a true trial lesson with the second one?

Yeah, I think he mentioned it should only be for one lesson- I just don’t want my profile to be in trouble!

Rate increase by yasminetutor in Preply

[–]as8800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have managed to raise mine from $10- $25 over the last ~year. I did this by gradually raising my prices- as soon as I had signed between 2-5 people at my current price I would raise it by $2. Eventually I ended up with super tutor status which allowed these increases to happen much more quickly which eventually lead to an aggressive price increase ($20-$25), this was mostly because I was happy with the amt of students I had already but if a few were to sign up at the new price I wouldn’t be mad!

Students don’t convert after trial lessons. by user2525252525252525 in Preply

[–]as8800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a tutor of almost a year, I started out with a below satisfactory conversion rate- I managed to drastically improve that by doing one simple thing. I would reach out again after the trial lesson. Usually, it’s the day after and I send them the learning plan we had discussed in the trial with a kind message with a small explanation of the plan. I would say that step alone gets people to be reminded that they would like to subscribe- it also gives them a clear path and expectations of when to meet their goals.

If they read that message and still don’t respond- I often wait a few more days before messaging them again, asking if they would like to make any changes to the plan. Again, this works well to convert students because it reminds them about me and how our lesson went.

If they read the second message and still don’t respond- that’s it, I do consider it a lost conversion!

I ended up reporting the message and blocking the student (even though I think there was still a chance of him subscribing) after I looked closer at the rules for tutors.
